    Temporary motorsport watch ideas.

My Sinn 956 is going to be off my wrist for a while being repaired. I’m looking for something to take its place for a while.

I would dearly love a Seiko SNDF87, but can’t find one anywhere!

Can anyone suggest an alternative? Budget under 500 in preference but I would look at higher.

How about Omologato? Mahindra in clearance sale is £100. Others below £500 comfortably like the ecurie ecosse & the James Hunt is nice too

but one of my favourites is in road & racing section which is the Quadroglio:

    - cheap motorsport watches you can't go wrong with imho

Glad there are a few of us around!

I like the Panda version of that Chr Ward.... bit more research required there.

That Quadroglio is really good looking. 45mm might be a bit big for my wrists though.

The chronographs made by this firm are very motorsports inspired and very good quality forcthe money.

Those F1s are a bit small for me ( but the Quadroglio is too big.

What sort of motorsport are you doing? Given the cheap and easy instrumentation available these days, I only use a watch to check I’m at scrutineering or the assembly area in some sort of order - anything works.

If you’re in a car, there’s not much I’d want to consider from a fire perspective tbh...

Well now..... errr... I suppose that’s like asking Someone buying a diver what type of diving he is actually doing.... (although I saw a thread earlier from Someone actually wanting a 5k diver to do some proper deep sea work with!... nearly fell off my internet perch)

So I do actually do hill climbs and the odd track day, so the chrono for timing is the only thing I use... it’s more that I am a total petrol head and my watch lusts mostly go around that kind of motorsport look.

If I had the budget right now a Monaco would be the ideal, or a Tudor heritage chrono.

Does that give a better idea?

I tried the Omologato range at Brands Hatch today and was very unimpressed. They may not be overly expensive in the scheme of things but, at £379 for the Derek Bell 500 Chrono, I thought the watch felt very cheap. I’m sure there are much better options out there for that sort of money.
