Another day another set of Speedmaster LEs restricted to the Japanese market.
I had a panda dial before and this one looks lovely !

Looks good to me, I prefer that to the Speedy Tuesday.
Are the hands grey or natural aluminium.
Say why you like about Omega releasing limited edition after limited Edition but you’ve got to admit, most of them are really nice.
I really like this one!
I bet it’s a bitch to tell the time in low light after a few scoops.
That is stunning. Very similar to the 35th anniversary Apollo XI panda limited edition, but with a touch of red in the word Speedmaster and the tip of the second hand.
I don't like the caseback though. Fantastic if you were involved or even travelled as a spectator, but to your average Joe it is a bit meaningless.
Thank god I am no longer in the market for this sort of thing
Great looking watch.
Ouch.
Yes there are more at the bottom of the omega web page

I really like the red tipped chrono seconds hand, but that's about it due to how hard that dial looks to be to read.
Just checked out the rest, five colours, one for each ring one assumes. Some are similar to the colour combinations used on the Moonphase range.
Is this limited to Japan or can any idiot buy one.
The white one and the black&gold one are winners, and for some reason, Omega is reissuing the Gemini IV - I bet that will make some people happy. Seriously though, for me, this is the most tasteful Olympic LE in a long while ... or maybe there were some nice ones and only the rainbow-coloured monstrosities have stuck in my mind.
I like a couple of those, especially the red

Do Olympics versions tend to sell well? I'm sure I saw a Rio bull head reduced on Regent Street yesterday.

I would suspect they sell better before the games rather than after. I have seen various editions in dealers listings for games that have been and gone and they certainly don't seem to move fast or attract a keen asking price.
I think these are a case of buy one if you intend to keep, but I think the second hand market in them would be rather flat.
Applied logo I see. Will all speedy pros soon get this treatment?

I rather like that speedy, stick a standard case back on it and it'd be quite a nice daily
I think there are some good options to choose from and once again I’m constantly amazed how Omega manage to squeeze so many variations of just one watch.
Omega have revealed them now because it’ll take another 2 years before they eventually get round to actually delivering them.
Made an order for the Panda.
The red one is super nice too:

Despite being constantly maligned, I'm beginning to think that this endless-LE strategy is working out well for Omega just as what Rolex is doing to much praise is working for them.
Would agree on the red version, stand out piece.
Have also noticed on these and the recent 45th anniversary Cernan edition of the new clasp design and maybe this will become the standard. Would certainly be an improvement on the current Moonwatch clasp and the limited adjustment which that offers.
So are these out on release now or were these just demo models? I ask because I will be in Japan in the next few weeks?
Personally, I would bet the Panda will sell out first! For myself, the Panda and the Green (which replaced my initial desire for the Red) are my favourites but to be honest I would love all of them but I don’t have a spare $40-50k ☹️

These are demo models that came out today. Shipping is around September to October. The lady said the Blue was proving to be the most popular.

Surprised that these are being released so early and cannot understand the logic on this when the Ultraman is still too be shipped out and the latest DSOTM 50th anniversaryApollo8 has not hit the stores yet.
Agree in keeping your brand name to the forefront but this seems a little too much, 2020.
I take it that to purchase one would have to do this in Japan?
RRP?
I've always wanted a Gemini 4, but perhaps this version of the blue dial - which looks almost identical apart from the slightly longer hour markers and red tipped second hand - might actually work out cheaper?
The only thing I have slight reservation on are the hands being the same colour as the sub dials. My ST is actually quite hard to read any time the hands sit over the sub dials.

Seems the ones that are limited to 55 pieces are the ones contained in a set of all 5 versions.
Prices will be JPY 680,400 (approx. EUR 5,240) for the steel models and JPY 842,400 (approx. EUR 6,490) for the steel and gold models.

No difference. The 55 set is already sold out however so that’s not an option.

Panda and the red are nice, what’s the deal with the new clasps?
How would one go about buying one of these? I am interested in the blue one, but do I take it that I cannot purchase one unless I do so in Japan?
:(
I thought the "1st batch" were sold out, but potentially more to follow...
love the blue dial, so it's either this or the Gemini IV, both it seems hard to acquire without digging deep. I wonder whether the release of an almost identical blue Olympic version will have a negative impact on the Gemini IV second hand price....Or am I just whistling in the wind...
Omega really know how to milk $$$ out of that outdated dog of a movement and shoddy case and bracelet, just by making new dials and bezels. Essentially free money.
