I have a similar tool ( spoke shave?) in the garage that I inherited from my Grandad, not as nice as that one obviously but its bloody sharp!
An impressive bit of recycling, and damn sharp to shave end grain like that . . .

Impressive but why not start with a piece of stock metal - is the bearing made from a steel especially good for this?
Nice to watch and with a rockwell 65 tool not marking the surface it's certainly hard!
Imagine it will hold its edge well but be difficult to sharpen
It’s hard alright,but all my chisels will cut end grain of softwood on an angle like that,I’d of been more impressed if it had been oak
