They seem to be really solid at the moment and creeping up. This is especially true for the early flat four models. I don't think they are tremendously rare so they may dip again when all this rolexmania dies down (whenever that might be). That said they have been established as a desirable model so I would definitely expect them to always hold higher than the LN equivalent.

They seem to be a hard watch to price recently.
I think they will continue to climb for a good while yet

Haha, I saw that one too. I remember when Ocean round the corner had one in the window for £7k and I thought they were taking the piss. That was only 18 months ago!

    Indeed.

Given how superior their watches are to the rest of the field, it's no wonder that demand is so strong. Any other company would have massively jacked up the prices long ago under these circumstances.

Not that the secondary-market pricing of a long-discontinued and highly-collectible model has anything to do with current MRSPs, anyway.

    Hoho ho.

    That was irony.

You can put something for sale at whatever price you want.
That doesn't equate to its value.

You’re clearly stating the obvious there , but I quite like the sellers optimism , take just one person who doesn’t know better to make him an offer and the seller would be quids in.

    Good luck to him.

I've got my 16610LV back on my wrist after a 5.5 year hiatus. I originally started wearing my LV in about 2012 along with my 16600 and it was great fun interchanging with rubberB straps on both and natos. Then got married in 2013 and my wife started wearing my LV but by then I also had a white 216570. I then treated myself to a LVC in 2014 and so I had 3 watches to wear in rotation which was more than adequate for me but I definitely missed the LV, especially at night because it was a comfortable watch to wear to bed with great night time legibility.

The LV stayed sized to my wife's wrist since she started wearing it and she did not want to wear any of my other watches. Then in 2018 I gifted her a 116333 wimbledon/federer dial which she loves and the LV was put away until the other day when I sized it to my wrist again. Wow, what a banging watch! I can't take it off now. It sits much lower than the 16600 and is also very different to the 216570 and LVC.

I've said it before, the 16610LV is the greatest rolex of the last 20 years, easily. An understated and classy watch that looks good casually and dressed up.

    Happy days!

Strangely enough the private sale on chrono24 for a flat 4 with scratched bezel hasn't sold yet @ 20k😂
I did notice a press pack get snapped up on fleabay for £950 a few weeks ago though.

I thought prices had stabilised over the past few months. The 16610LV has become a collector piece. Flat or later. So I believe it will always hold firm.

I think they have flattened out too based upon an occasional look on eBay.

I don’t think they are close to flattening out based on the last 12-18 months.

    How much?!

All it is, is a maxi dialed Sub-Date with a green aluminium bezel. Actually nothing that special really.

    Madness.

I know crazy isn’t it - only a huge amount of work more than writing Submariner in Red rather than White, but seems to command a bit of a premium.

The prices are high, because some modern currently available models are selling for very high prices.

It doesn’t look like that is going to reverse any time soon.

Based on the last 18 months, no, but over the last 3, I think they have. Happy to admit that my source is limited and I don't spend a lot of time observing.

I had two 16610LVs, one from brand new. Sold them both within a month of ownership for around £3k! each as couldn't get on with the look compared to the regular sub.
    Still have a hulk though.

I've been on the lookout for one for a few months now and my perception in that time is that (in general) prices have for the moment at least levelled off. Flat fours may be a different matter.

Stay tuned guys - my 2017 Hulk will appear in the For Sale section next week all going to plan. It’s a stunning watch but I’ve decided that the time is right to sell up and try something new.

I requested an offer to buy from Watch Finder and they came back to me today via e-mail offering between £7500-£7700. Even if the watch is as described, I wonder if they end up offering even less upon inspection.

Its gone a little off and includes the Hulk too, both great news watches although I think the original LV will maintain its current range for a while and the Hulk should simmer in the very low teens till it no longer appears in the catalogue then it’ll jump 30-50% if they remove it making a nice one mid to high teens. Pure speculation but Id pout my reputation on it

You think Rolex could/would discontinue the hulk? Thats certainly food for thought. Toying of the idea of letting mine go whilst prices are high. Sold my “y” series LV for £5750 4/5 years ago and still smarting...maybe I should keep hold of the hulk..

Personally I can only see them updating the hulk to say a new movement then giving it a new reference number and not discontinuing it completely.

And then the waiting lists will just to 10 years and not the current 3.

Personally I’d agree, unless you have a spare Flat 4 insert laying around.
In a few years time who knows this could be cheap!!! , but for me it’s overpriced at this moment

Is that the same one that's been in virtually every dealer in central Scotland?

Think I last saw it in Glasgow arcade not long ago..

    16610 lv prices

I’d take stab at Chisholm Hunter. They’ve had quite a few Kermits and rather mysteriously, none of them had any paperwork.

I have had 2-3 watches in the last month offered that haven’t been straight! One had the worst fake box I have seen and even when we contacted and showed the previous sellers they said ‘oh really, How can you tell!’ and that was a independent shop
