    No flat 4 bezel. That's why it's 15k would have 20k with flat 4

Personally I’d agree, unless you have a spare Flat 4 insert laying around.
In a few years time who knows this could be cheap!!! , but for me it’s overpriced at this moment

Pure speculation but Id pout my reputation on it
Personally I can only see them updating the hulk to say a new movement then giving it a new reference number and not discontinuing it completely.

And then the waiting lists will just to 10 years and not the current 3.

Seems cheap now as an F serial Lv has just appeared on the very same forum for $5 under 25k.

    Not sold yet though

    Indeed.

Given how superior their watches are to the rest of the field, it's no wonder that demand is so strong. Any other company would have massively jacked up the prices long ago under these circumstances.

Not that the secondary-market pricing of a long-discontinued and highly-collectible model has anything to do with current MRSPs, anyway.

    16610 lv prices

I’d take stab at Chisholm Hunter. They’ve had quite a few Kermits and rather mysteriously, none of them had any paperwork.

    Just saying.........

I have had 2-3 watches in the last month offered that haven’t been straight! One had the worst fake box I have seen and even when we contacted and showed the previous sellers they said ‘oh really, How can you tell!’ and that was a independent shop

Is that the same one that's been in virtually every dealer in central Scotland?

Think I last saw it in Glasgow arcade not long ago..

I'm not sure if it's just the insert that's fake, but surely any dealer would know that an engraved rehaut model could not have a flat 4 bezel?

So now that the aforementioned Hulk from this thread has been and gone at around £8500 does that have any bearing on what we think a 2006 LV Submariner is worth. Box and Rolex authenticity papers but not warranty card.

Was considering a swap but can’t decide what’s worth more at the moment.

Independent dealer, maybe. AD, quite unlikely.

For those that believe that the flat 4 will or possibility go down in the near future. What would the reason be?

How many of these were produced? From what I’ve been told they aren’t that rare so I don’t understand the demand all of a sudden🤔

I guess that all depends on what you have been told ? And by whom ?
Have you an inside rolex source for production numbers ?

I don't think its the rarity.
They were produced for 7 yrs in decent numbers and plenty available at a price on Chrono 24.
A lot of owners and collectors keep them and a lot have several of them as they are collectable and increasing in value.
Oh and they are also a great looking watch so that helps.
    Had one and sold it.
Will get another but it won't be cheap.

In reality these aren’t even that nice looking.

Everyone who owns an LV thinks it is nice looking, but won't realise its not until it stops appreciating?

Flat 4 LV inserts aren't rare but highly desirable so they sell accordingly.
It's the same with all Rolex parts which you can't obtain any more, 60 minute insert anyone?

Quite. Didn't Jedley once post that a genuine Milsub second hand was a £10k+ item.

I never got excited about this watch when it came out. That is usually how it works though, you completely ignore the next big thing.

I think prices will continue to rise for a while yet.

So if the LV with a 7 year production what about the SDc with the 3 year run?
Again IMO a great looking watch in the perfect size.
Wear and enjoy -what will be will be.

Totally agree that the SDc is a great watch, but somehow I don't see the same hysteria - which means you should all invest now

If only they cost that now! I’ve spoken to several collectors who won’t sell at any cost...

LV prices will rise for full set nice pieces, those who have them will hold onto them.
They will become more desirable and harder to buy.

I agree regarding buying them now. I remember 5/6 years ago at least two very respected dealers I know personally scoffed at the idea of the LV becoming collectible as in their opinion “it’s a modern Rolex, far too many were made for it to become collectible”. The same dealers now ask the going rate which we know is very high so they’ve been proven wrong. In regards to the SDc, how can a 3 year production run modern Rolex which never sold well at the time NOT become collectible in the future. It’s a sure fire investment piece. Give it a few more years and I reckon we’ll be talking a lot more than the £9/10k that we see asked for them now.

Was just speaking about watches with a guy at work and he says he bought a rolex with a green dial for his 40th ten years ago, said he paid 4 - 4.5k.
Says it was a 50th anniversary watch and has the box and papers.
Showed him this thread and said thats the one.....
He hasn't worn it for years as he hardly wears a watch, just sits in its box.
If he was to sell said watch privately, what would be a fair price?
I've said watchfinder would give him a price but asking for the wisdom off the forum.

    Thanks.
