Never heard of them before but I have to say very nice design.
I just saw this pop up on my feed. Has anyone had one of their watches before? I like the look of the U1-EM

Never heard of them before but I have to say very nice design.
From the specs it looks like a good watch and I really like the stealthy design. I'm guessing I'll need to make a quick decision or they'll be gone. Especially with Hodinkee giving them a pump
I’m surprised there’s no trademark issue with Sinn?
I hadn't even thought of that. Looks like unimatic have been using the name for a while now, although for less time that Sinn have.
Nice to see something in a sensible price range that departs from the normal sub-clone diver.
Very clean looking - I'm similarly impressed.
I really like the look of them but have never understood why they use dial coloured hands, relying on the lume for visibility.
It makes the hands (which are the right size) look too small because the frame disappears.
Wierd choice.
Dave
I'm starting to obsess over these. If they did an all-blue one I'd already have parted with my money.
I love some of these! I won’t thank you for sharing though as a bit out of my price range :(
I don't think this is the problem, I'd say it's just an effect due to the filled lume plots, which are too disproportionate (I realise that's the idea) and they sort of encroach on the hands' "territory" - note how on the outlined-only versions, the hands are just right.
But I do like the design language a lot - these four are not quite for me, but I'd love to see more such attempts.
Gone and done it
With the bracelet added to the order …
We'll see what it's made of in a few days
That one is quite nice, reminds me this...

Ordered earlier, with the bracelet.

Nice to see them expand the U1 line, was a fan of their previous models. I think the U1-EM is the pick of the bunch from these new ones.
Really like these. I’m sooo tempted...
When is the expected delivery dates for these?
I like the brushed steel versions a lot, but trying to save pennies for a purchase next year, so I’ll resist for now.
Given the ubiquitousness of dive watches, it’s fairly tricky to come up with a new design that’s both distinctive & works. I think Unimatic have done a great job.
Liked these ever since reading Jason Heaton’s Hodinkee review of his Modello Uno U1-B a while back: https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/un...watch-hands-on
Interestingly, he’s a regular diver who still uses his on occasion for shallower, no-decompression diving.
Ordered!

Those outline dials look cool.

Skating away on the thin ice of a new day
I decided to be a sensible boy and pass on these. Trying to keep the account stocked for a 216570 later this year.
I was just went to pull the trigger on a U1-EN for £555 but then when I went to checkout it added on VAT so took it up to £666. I thought the price included VAT.
As much as I like the look of these and I know I’m being swept up in the hype a bit and this thread really isn’t helping
I’m gonna hold off for now and have a think...
Just looking at the specs, you seem to get quite a lot of watch for your money. I’m looking forward to actually seeing it in the flesh, hopefully it should arrive on Monday.

I’ll be looking forward to buyers reviews here come early next week...
Hopefully pick one up from SC :)
It's just a matter of time...
First impressions are very good. IMO it looks better on the rubber strap than it does in the nato but both are top quality.
My only criticism so far (I’ve only had it about 4 hours) is that I wish it had drilled lugs.

Very nice Pete!
How is the alignment on the bezel and chapter ring etc? What’s your impressions on the build quality?
Thanks
I too nearly got caught up in the hype after reading the original Hodinkee article a while ago.
However I then decided to mod a Seiko SKK009 instead with the same movement, possibly a unique build and at a big saving to the Unimatics...food for thought.
I agree there’s a little bit of hype due to Hodinkee & the Limited numbers, but it’s too reductive to state a watch is only about/as good as the movement inside.
There’s so much else that makes a watch what it is - design, case, materials, finishing, bracelet etc.
I think these Unimatics are a solid package, priced at a sensible level & with some of the most distinctive designs I’ve seen from a young brand in quite some time.
It’s hard to compare anyone’s pricing to Seiko, given they are operating with ridiculous economies of scale and over a hundred years under their belt.
How much were Tudor charging for 2824 based watches? A huge mark up compared to micro brands. Doesn't really matter. As said, the movement is only one part of the puzzle.
The newer black bays have the better movement, but for various other reasons are less desirable than the ETA based versions (imo)

So what’s everyone else’s thoughts who have purchased one?
Be nice to see a decent picture of one on the bracelet too.
The problem I have is that I actually really like all the designs and I’m finding it really hard to pick a favourite. I really like the black pvd ones but then I’d like the bracelet but I also really like the SS versions too and I think they all bring something a little different to the table. Love the blank bezel versions but then really like the date versions. Decisions decisions!!
Received last night. Very happy, very clean look, suits a variety of straps. Prefer it to the halios seaforth I've had, feels better put together (and the halios doesn't feel bad in that respect)

Looks like a really nice watch. The design of these is really exceptional.
Liking it on an isofrane style strap

Cheers Warren.
I bought the essentially unworn ND one with bracelet from John on here. Couple of quick observations: timekeeping is excellent, and the bracelet is very decent. Size and depth also just right for me. I think that the (relatively) high price is fully justified by the design and general execution. Negatives? Not much: I wonder if 20mm lugs might have been a better decision, because the watch looks a tiny bit broad-shouldered with the bracelet on, and the lume is fine (lasts all night on the hands) but not torch-like.
Overall: mine won't be appearing on SC anytime soon...
Little bump, as I just ordered one of these. Collaboration with Massena labs
Love the look of the Unimatics, but for the asking price an NH35 is just nowhere near good-enough.
