For the purposes of having a line in the sand let’s say affordable means £1000. For me I have always really fancied a Universal Geneve polerouter but either never found the right one or the right price. Another would be a Vulcain cricket.

I think I've bought pretty much everything under a grand that I want. And sold them too.
There are a couple of the Damasko watches in that range I quite like but in a bizarre watch version of the "Stones vs Beatles" and "Oasis vs Blur" rivalries, I see Sinn and Damasko as competing and I fall on the side of Sinn.
I think at this moment the only thing I have any real interest in, in the sub-£1k range, is a Longines Hydroconquest. But then having handled one I know it'd be a short-lived infatuation. Plus its snazzier cousin the LLD is on my wrist right now.

Sinn, another brand that I always liked the look of but for some reason never bought one I suppose my collection reached a point that if I did buy one it would get rarely used.
Nomos club, in some ways glad I didnt and kept with my Stowa, still may buy a Nomos Orion though.

I fancy something bronze - preferably diver and inexpensive just so I can see how fast it will tarnish here.

Oris BC3, original size and a Mondaine quartz have always appealed to me.
Oris Chronoris for me, with either the green or orange accents, although the orange came with a bracelet as I recall.

Omega Dynamic.
The funky late-1960's generation in the elliptical, monocoque case. Never quite found one in both the required condition and at a decent price (which is a shame, as prices seem to have increased in recent years).
And any number of fantastic German watches, probably at second-hand prices - Junghans, Sinn, Nomos, Damasko etc. Great watches & terrific value for money.
There always seems to be something else more urgent to buy / save for.
Steinhart ocean one bronze is an excellent affordable bronze
Also the Bulova Moonwatch.

I would like to try the MKII Fulcrum but it's just to close to the Pelagos in looks
In fact I would like to try most of the MKII range, more so now I have a Hawkinge and it's great quality for the money.
I also like the look of the Steinhart OVM but agains it's too close in looks to a CWC diver and I have loads (ok 3) of them.

Any Nomos - they all look exceptional value for what they are.
In fact, as soon as I shift some of my collection on one should probably be at the top of the list.

Kemmner Bund. Thread bringing up some great memories, fortunate enough to have dipped my toe in most of the affordable waters in my time. Marathon TSAR great bang for buck, always preferred the JSAR looks wise but rare on the open market.
G-shock for me. Wear my decent watches mountain biking, running etc and really out to get something like a g-shock

I recall seeing the TAG reissues for not much more than that (£1200-1300) - I nearly bought one a few times, so I guess they count for me too..
Those days seem to be long gone though.

CWC. Always really fancied a black SBS and regret pulling the trigger when the were sub £400.
Now they are £600 plus for some strange reason and are consequently harder to justify.
