    A bit of browsing today

Spent a good 2 hours in Ernest Jones in Manchester today. Only went in for a quick look, but was soon trying on stuff I never thought I’d like. The sales guy took us all round the different brands and his suggestions were spot in on.

To be honest, I could have bought most of the watches I tried on today, but walked out empty handed with a few decisions to make.

Here’s a selection of the ones I tried on.

Some Cartiers, which I really liked.

Some Glashuttes, which were simply stunning.

Omega Z33 and a Proplov. They looked huge, but didn’t wear big on my wrist (honest).

Then went into the Nomos AD, but was a bit disapointed with them. None of them seemed to sit properly and they all wore bigger than the dimensions would suggest, apart from the Metro which I quite liked.

Not sure which one I’m going to go for.

The blue/black Glashutte immediately caught my eye. Really not a fan of the 2 Omega’s there.

That one is in the top three. Along with the white dialled moon phase and the Cartier Santos.

Glashütte PanoMaticLunar is one I’m interested in next, really depends on it fitting my skinny wrist.

I’m with you there, only slight change I’d make would be to have the Santos on a black alligator strap.

Tbh, based on your pictures, imo they’re all too big for your wrist.

Of course, we know wide angle
lenses distort perspective but perception is reality and all that!

The blue glashutte would be my first choice, the white dialled one is beautiful too!

The omegas are really not my style, but each to their own

    I remember trying the Z-33 when it first came it - I wouldn't buy it then - I wouldn't buy it now . . .

The ploprof - I did have some fun with though >>

OP - the Cartier looks (first one) looks rather good on you - based on those pictures..

All look comedy big imo, including the first.

First Cartier looks fantastic, but I love the quality of GO at the price point.
It's just a matter of time...

That was my first impression as well. Out of interest what size is your wrist?

The Cartier comes with a leather strap as well. It is a tan one, but he said that he would get me another if I fancied a change.

They have a quick change system on them as well where you just push a button to release it rather than messing about with spring bars. The adjustment pins on the bracelet are also a push button release, which I found quite handy.

You’re right there. The pictures make them look totally different to how they sat on my wrist in reality.

6 3/4 inches. Anything over a 47mm lug to lug size tends to be too big for me.

For me the two Cartier’s are streets ahead, just don’t like any of the others at all.

The Santos for me .I appreciate the quality of the Glashutte but it just seems a bit odd to have a watch within a watch if you get my drift .

Agree that the Cartiers, especially first one look right.
