Looks nice - but we could see Blancpain milking the 40mm size for a while. Also 250 is not a lot of pieces, could be one for the privileged few.....
This is rather good looking - or is it just yet another 'special edition'?

$17,100 according to Hodinkee.
I would have been up for some of that but not at that price, it's just stupid, should have priced it at Sub money and not made it a limited run
I think it's pretty shocking not having a bracelet included at that price - seems to be the trend of late though
I'd love to own a 40mm Blancpain dive watch, the FF is just too big for me, I've tried one on a few times and it just doesn't work despite me wanting it to.
Agreed at that money i'd expect a beautifully engineered bracelet as well as the NATO and Sailcloth thrown in
That is lot of money for something that doesn't seem particularly impressive. So 1k goes to a charitable cause, but that seems pretty insignificant in terms of what they're charging.
'Ocean Commitment' is at a jaunty angle atop the globe too:
They may have been speaking to Bremont about how best to stick one up you with maximum penetration....
Strange similarity - but then Omega and others have been at it for a while now with the ‘Limited editions’ except they do not produce such editions in small runs. Brietling seem to go for runs of 300, Zenith 1000 for their Ltd Editions. But at least their pricing is not at the same level as these guys.

Asked the local AD about this one and they are all gone. I assume this is the UK allocation but didn't check. I knew I wouldn't buy it but just interested in whether they were selling.

In Milan at the minute and seen two available at different ADs...
Looking pretty hideous on that horrible nylon strap thing!
Looking at it it's quite nice and somewhat controversially it seems, I also think it's well priced. With the 1151 calibre it will have the same capabilities as the base calibre for the Breguet Marine, and as it's Blancpain I would expect hand finished anglage and black polishing on the movement. It's priced less than the titanium Breguet Marine, and is quite a bit cheaper than a PP Aquanaut.
It looks rather gaudy.
Maybe Blancpain is trying to line the text up with the Earth's tilted axis to create a sense of motion?

I, like many others, am ready for a regular production 40mm fifty fathoms.
Why don’t they make a standard version with no blight on the dial at the sensible 40mm size? It is infuriating.
That version would give the Sub a true run for its money as the ‘classic’ modern diver.
