This Oris has 23mm lugs which makes finding straps really hard. It came with a lovely grey alligator leather strap but I like to experiment and always dislike wearing leather in the summer. I’m also not certain about how alligator leather is sourced and have heard some nasty stories, but I’m sure that’s not representative of every manufacturer.
I was doing some strap hopping on another watch and held a 22mm strap up to the Oris. It looked fine so I gave it a try. It didn’t work so well with the curved spring bars but in straight ones it looks great. Although the lugs are indeed 23mm, they taper a lot very quickly so the actual part where the strap leaves the lugs it’s 22mm. Or perhaps even 21mm. That’s because he OEM strap tapers from 23 to 18mm which looks elegant but it also means a 22-20mm strap looks good, too.
I tried this canvas strap which looks similar to the one that comes equipped on the pilot version of this watch. It feels great :)
