I love a summer with warmth and sunshine. But this...

... is perhaps a little ott... First longterm weather forecasts for The Netherlands predict temps between the mid-30s and 40 degrees for the last weekend of July. And oh, a shower next Saturday evening. That would be the first rain in 7 weeks! (Last week of May!) I think I give up on watering the lawn. These temps remind me of Tuscany a few years back. I haven't seen a thing of the old buildings. All I did was scanning the streets for patches of pavement with shadow!

As it happens to be, I (well my son and I, so better speak of 'we') are heading for Plymouth tomorrow. Can't say I was disappointed when I looked at the forecasts and noticed temps between 20 and 25 degrees. I'll be out on the water most of the times, so I suppose it will be a little cooler as well.

Could be worse, I spent the last 10 days rolling out the IT infrastructure for the airshow at Fairford.

Spare a thought for Iceland having it’s worst summer for 100 years.

All weather fronts have been routed way north and they’ve taken the brunt.

Actually, my wife and I were discussing if the current fair weather has is 'counterbalanced' somewhere else. Now, it's clear where that 'somewhere else' is!

    .........is brilliant!!!!

Not sooo long ago we had deep ice and snow.
People would have given anything for this.
Seems to be in our constitution to always want something different. Grass is always greener, if you like.

My grass isn’t. It’s brown and crispy.
So clever my foot fell off.

Finally, the myth that the sun doesn't shine in this country being dispelled. Dreading return of 10C, grey skies and pissing rain 24/7.

Today is slightly cooler, and thunderstorms tomorrow mean the temperature may come down a bit.
Very enjoyable though, shame I have to work...
