    Seiko SNKP01 won’t manually wind

    Morning guys

I recently picked up a Seiko SNKP01 Automatic for my father in law. He is really pleased with it but it doesn’t seem to want to manually wind. We’ve actually had 2 now, the last was damaged on arrival, but they are both the same.

The manual suggests it should be easy but I don’t know whether that’s a generic booklet.

The reserve is pretty good but if he hasn’t worn it a few days his only option seems to give it a good shake before setting and wearing it.

Just wondering if anyone else has come across this?

    Thanks

    Darren

I think this model has a 7S26 movement which does not have manual winding - automatic winding only.

That would seem likely. How do I find out which movement it has?

Look at the caseback, where it says '7S26-04J0'. That means it has a 7S26 movement.

20 taps on the palm is usually a good start to put a decent amount of power into these before wearing.
