Decadent wonkfest.
Nero fiddles while Rome burns.
I do like the look of that VC though....
This year's GPHG selection:

Most of them don't look like watches to me. Maybe they're the horological equivalent of ortolan birds and ikizukuri fish.

Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
I think the Montblanc Monopusher is really nice.

Plug for Ming 19.01 which has submitted in the Petite category, which is great to see from a micro brand (even if not to everyone's taste).
A watch I've been waiting for a while and can't wait to receive in the coming months!
Wow, the majority of the conventional watches look out of place.
It's just a matter of time...
There are quite a few PSM, a Voutilainen and a couple of de Bethune that I’d happily wear. But thewinner for me isMax’s Legacy.

I always thought entry wasn't quite high, but you needed a certain number of the jury to nominate?
Looking in more detail, I like the challenge category - under CHF4000 including an allowance for smart watches. In particular I like the Gorilla wandering hours, comes in at great value and I think design wiseore coherent than their last offering.
Russian roulette extreme could be useful.
Love the bvlgari's and the hublot sapphires.
Bumping this up - the entries have now been whittled to a 'pre-selected' list of 6 per category. Any favourites for people here?

The Zenith defy classic is nice: http://gphg.org/horlogerie/en/watches/defy-classic
Did this get shortlisted? I can't see it - only the El Primero 21, Defy Zero G and the CP-2.
I'm a fan of the Ming 19.01 (I have to be as I have one on order!), the Gorilla (using a Vaucher module to create the wandering hour complication), the Habring2 and the Freak Vision.
I see a lot of smaller brands getting recognition which is great exposure for them - lets see how many of them actually win awards....
The VC ultra thin annual for me, but I did rather like the Seiko.
Good effort by Mont Blanc.
The Singer re-imaged would be nice if I could afford the car to go with it.
Whoever does not know how to hit the nail on the head should be asked not to hit it at all.

No, it's only on the 'main list'. http://gphg.org/horlogerie/en/gphg-2...ting-watches-0
The Octo Finissimo Tourbillon is definitely one of my favourites. Anyone wanna loan me 100k? :)
