Look for any of the remaining discontinued TAG Aquaracers (WAK2180). I have one for daily wear; very comfortable and lightweight.
I've been out of the watch game for a few years but have noticed a watch that I admired some time ago...the Aquatimer chrono 3719.
I've been in the look out for a good medium sized diver with a rubber band to wear over the summer.
How does the 3719 rate amongst aquatimers today?
Which is considered more collectable, Ti or steel?
Other watches to consider under 3k
Thanks. Appreciate your opnion in advance

I don’t know what the consensus is, I personally think the 3719 is from the golden era of the Aquatimer Series. Well built but not oversized tool watches. I loved the way they incorporated the adjustment for the internal bezel into the reset chrono pusher. I regretted not getting the bracelet model. While the rubber was comfortable, it was a too long for my wrist, the proprietary lugs meant I couldn’t pop it on a nato. I flipped it to fund a Sub ND, back when you could pick one up for 2k...
It never bothered me, but the 7750 rotor wobble was quite noticeable in the titanium case.

Agree on the golden era comment. I’ve made this point before but I think that IWC had a period in the early 2000s where their designs were spot on. Portuguese Chrono, the pilot chronos and the Aquatimer models. I personally prefer the three hander over the chrono but both are handsome watches.

Had one for more than 1000 days. It was a Grail for a few years, tracked one down in great condition and on the bracelet. As someone mentioned, this was one of the last from Golden era of IWC. No bullshit, made for Men watch. No milion meter WR, no ceramic, no fuss. Just a great all rounder, quality macho watch that you can wear on everything. Loved it, but eventualy sold it because the next one got a bit more wrist time (ref. 3231). Two things are a downside. The lume is not great and the metala bracelet (even that it is a engineer work of art) was pulling hair like crazy.
Everything else was top notch, from the brushed surfaces to the rhodium plated hands. Just wa fantastic, fantastic watch. Had a few times the Ti model on my wrist, not as eye candy as steel one, but i would love to have it one day on rubber strap.
Here are a few more shots to push you to the right direction
Stunning, just stunning.
What is your wrist size?
