    "Everything is red in the UK...

    ... the letterboxes, the telephone booths and my bank account when I've returned home!"

    According to a Dutch friend setting up camp in Plymouth. His first impression is that everything is eyewatering expensive in that part of Devon. A berth in the Marina, shopping at Morrisons', fuel... Oh well, I come prepared now...

    Make sure you get a cornish pasty. I'm sure you can get them in Devon.
    Good luck everybody. Have a good one.

    Jam first is bonkers. Enjoy Devon and the weather, it has cooled down a little here.

    Due to the unusually fine weather, central government, with the assistance of local councils and business, has imposed a 'holiday tax' on all foreign and domestic visitors. For citizens of the United Kingdom, this is only enforced when, and if, you leave your county of domicile.

    Some things are expensive but with the strong euro you should be fine. There are tourist spots down that way which are expensive, but plenty of normal people and more normal prices in shops (surprised he said Morrison’s is expensive)

    Doesn't it apply only to citizens from the EU? I'm sure Boris promised us we'd all have extra £351 Million to spend each year if we voted Leave!

    I've always considered that the cream was the butter...therefore cream first then Jam.
    Anything else is just utterly bewildering.

    Jam first cream on top, if you think otherwise seek counselling.

    Nope. Here are the formulae to prove otherwise:

    Cream = Cream

    Butter = Butter

    You're of course correct however I look at the cream as the butter.
    If you were to make a jam sandwich I assume you'd use butter/marg first then the jam?
    You wouldn't place the jam on first and the butter on top.....Would you?
