Thread: Which watch for lifer?

  1. #1

    Which watch for lifer?

If you could only own and wear one watch for the rest of your stretch, which one would you choose (asking for a friend)?

Obviously won't need big depth rating but needs to be suitable for the showers – can get a bit rough in there.

Servicing might be an issue so probably quartz although battery change won’t be easy either so maybe solar. Not sure how much sunlight it’ll get – an hour or so a day unless in the South wing.

An atomic G-Shock might fit the bill but what’s reception like through thick walls?

Yes you can shower with it... GW-5000-1JF. Sync it when you're in the exercise yard.

Why bother? I would have thought the worst thing to do is fixate on the passing of time.

I believe it'll have to be one that's not worth over £100.

An Apple watch would be handy, you can put files on them . . .

Not exactly. You can have anything you wish, but have to sign a disclaimer that it is not worth more than £100 to limit any compo claim should it be damaged or stolen.

Thanks, that's a fuller explanation than I was given.

Something small with no sharp corners for easy "stowage" and water resistant for washing it off. Also probably an auto movement as I dare say it'll get well wound up while on the wrist whilst locked up. Was going to say banged up but that didn't sound right to me.
