IWC Doppelchronograph wedding present to me... (Father of the bride)

New to me as of yesterday courtesy of Qatar-Wol, a very nice watch to wear at my daughters wedding on the glorious 12th next month. Always hankered after one of these but could never imagine actually getting one to keep for real. As a bonus I can almost get into the suit that has been selected for me to wear, (lost two stones so far only another one to go). It will be heading for a service after the wedding and possibly a wash and brush up to boot, living the dream as they say. Thanks to Q-W for hanging on to it for so long. Any tips on how to date the serial number? Gadget

This seems to be reasonably accurate for my Doppel:

Thank you on both counts... seems the case was manufactured in 2002 and I shall await the movement number when it goes in for service later this year,

Very nice and one of the best they have ever produced in my mind.

It was a pleasure to meet up, Les, and I'm pleased that the watch has gone to a loving home!

Had one of these years ago and like an idiot I sold it. Missed it so much I got another last week, bought it especially to get married in next month.

Congrats, that looks good was hoping you'd post some pics when it arrived. Bracelet looks great, presume with so many moving links it just hugs the wrist.
