Are they similar in concept to the Eve foam mattresses?
Some friends of ours have one of those and really like it
On the look for a new mattress and these guys seem to be getting rave reviews, has anyone got one?

I'm trying to avoid the long boring task of travelling round laying down on mattresses weekend after weekend trying to make a decision!
Cheers

Not sure to be honest, very good marketing though and seem exclusive to John Lewis, they don't do that often so I'm presuming it's a decent product!
I've just read a bit more about them and there are similarities but a difference. Eve are three layers of different behaviour foam, Simba are three layers but foam/spring/foam. I have no idea which is better but we're limited to continental sizes (due to bed design) so the Simba is out for us.
Just had a look at the Eve mattresses, the whole site seems identical to the Simba!
Even the look of the actual mattress is the same! Very strange.........
Well I've ordered one, 100 nights to test it is a no brainer I feel, will report back for all that are interested.............
Be interested to hear how you get on, I've always been a fan of memory foam mattresses but the o/h finds them too warm in summer.

These have a "special" topper which gets rid of heat apparently, we will see..........
How did you find it over the brief summer? Did the cooling layer work?

Is the idea of a Simba mattress that you lion it?
Seriously - what's the verdict gilford? Has it been cool enough in the hot weather?
Id be interested to hear how you got on as well please? I have been looking at the Eve ones as well.
The mattress is superb lads!
I really cannot fault it, we are having great sleeps coupled with some Dunlopillo pillows :-)
Give it a go, it's a no brainier with 100 night free trial.
Good to know you're feline good about your purchase. Very tempted.
Do you purr, or snore?
If anyone wants to buy a Simba (highly recommended), if you buy through this link you'll get £50 off.
Edit
I'll get a referral fee and for each one (if there are any) I'll put a tenner in the fundraiser.

which is pointless as a mattress needs to be 'broken in' to your body shape, as always with mattresses its a gamble, double with the fact that its a comprimise between two people if your married or with a partner,
most of us here are a little older shall we say, and like me have tried many mattresses through our short lifetime, I have spent years looking for the 'perfect' mattress
after many variations, on memory foam/springs/high density springs/horsehair/combinations, I think I found my most recent purchase by chance one evening.
I liked the sound of it, it had tight spring pockets (lots) and on one side only, one layer of memory foam.
but not the usual 4 inches, but split into low/high density memory foam an inch and a half each, this was added to the top of a 'conventional mattress' and had added holes within it to aid 'breathing'
since I have got it, i sleep like a log (summer nice and cool/winter warm and snug, with no sweating), I can only describe the feeling as floating, when falling asleep.
but this was not achieved by mattress alone, I had a custom made pillow made by one of my Theatre friends, who is doing this as a sideline, she measured my neck to shoulder distance, and then constructed it, and now I dont have any shoulder crush, nor cranked neck, its just perfect.
with the correct marketing, she could be on to something here.
as my old Dad used to say, "all I need in life is a good chair and a good bed"
he was soooo right.

Really do not like foam/rubber mattresses. Too hot. I can always tell when in hotels if these are under my carcass. Give me old fashioned pocket springs with layers of traditional horse hair etc any day. Vi Spring suit me.
It's the problem of getting rid of the old one that bothers me. If I order a new mattress online, I have to somehow get the old one to the dump. Major ballache that.
Max 18 Stone or 114kg?
How much are they?
It's just a matter of time...
How are purchasers finding the Simba?
I'm about seven weeks in now. It took a bit of getting used to but I'm liking it more and more all the time. My aches and pains that I suffered from with my previous mattress have gradually disappeared.
The possibility of it being too warm did worry me but I don't think it suffers that way in the slightest.
I'm loving it. What a great feeling at the end of the day when I fall into bed........ And relax.....
And the return 'claws' is a nice bonus too.
Certainly gives you paws for thought.
Come on lads, these puns are awful. Where's your pride?
Sorry Dave, although you should be more simba-thetic.
Bought one thanks for the link and code, hope its not a catastrophe
The code's still working and it should work in conjunction with free mattress removal and Premium Delivery until Midnight on 27th November.
As far as I can gather you just choose 'Premium Delivery and Mattress Removal' at the checkout and you won't be charged for it this week.
Sorry to resurrect an old thread but we had our Simba mattress delivered on Friday and my 8 1/2 month pregnant wife and I both find it amazing. We have had the best 2 nights sleep of our lives since its unpacking which in itself was quite an occasion as it arrives boxed and shrink wrapped! Really quite novel.
Id highly recommend anyone giving them a try.
Had ours a while now. No complaints. Still comfy.
What about the initial chemical smell (gets mentioned in many reviews)? Does it really go away after a few days?
