Just arrived - Seiko Sumo Green aka the Grumo

    All,

Just wanted to show off this new arrival. Bought it straight of Rakuten JP from a shop called 1more. They say they don't ship internationally on the website but they actually do.

It took 3days to arrive from Osaka to London and then 1 week to clear from UK customs.

I am mega excited, but I will let the pics speak for themselves.

    Best,

    Thanks for sharing.

I find these watches really attractive, but the size is way too big for my wrist, if they to make this in a smaller say, let's say 38mm or 40mm tops.I would be all over it.

Love the Sumo. Been trying to track down the Silver Sumo myself but seem quite difficult to come by these days.

    Enjoy your new watch.

V nice. In a range filled with superb value watches (quite a few of which I've owned), I suspect the sumos are the biggest bang for buck. Had a blue and a black. Sold them but.. fancy a blue mk 1 again.

Love that dial and the fact it’s not as green as the bezel, enjoy

Absolutely stunning when the light hits it at good angles, congrats!

I think it was 20%. I got a mega deal from Rakuten back then. Paid 54k YEN, which is today 400GBP but was 350GBP back then, incl. shipping.

    £70VAT -> 420GBP total

Thanks, that is a good deal.
Chrono have one for approx £660 + shipping, so massive price difference.
What are your thoughts on it, after owning it for a while ?

I liked it a lot. Also have a Sapphire sandwich Speedy and a Certina DS Diver and the Sumo is holding its ground.

I recently handled a Sub, Tudor BBR, Tudor BBB, JLC Reverso, Breitling Heritage Super Ocean II, Longines HydroConquest and an Explorer II.

And I feel the Sumo definately has the Longines HC beat if not even the Breitling SO which just felt cheap.

Interesting, I can't get on with the breitling either. Longines looks nice, but the green of the sumo appeals much more to me
