    Hello!

Greetings from the west coast of Canada, I've come via a circuitous route while researching a watch, a Weems Movado Navigator. If I can ever figure out how to post pics I will, in the meantime it has an interesting history. It was owned by a gentleman, now passed, who was a navigator on a Wellington, he survived two runs on Hamburg early in the war before being shot down over the North Sea. Only he and the rear gunner survived and were picked up by fishermen. I can only imagine the horrors he and others like him faced...
The best info I've found has been on this site (some very knowledgable people round here!!) and has helped me piece together it's history and function for which I'm grateful. The dial is discoloured, probably from it's dunking into the sea but overall is in good condition and still runs well, I have other watches as well, some mechanical, some quartz and look forward to poking around the site

    Hello!

Hi there and welcome. I’m looking forward to seeing that Weems as I’m sure are plenty of others. There are a few threads on here explaining how to post pictures, either via an app or photosharing site. If you get stuck then plenty will be happy to help.

    Have fun here!

    Welcome.

To post photos, first upload them to a hosting service e.g. http://postimages.org then use the link provided after uploading there (use 'direct link', 2nd one down) to paste into the box that pops up when you click on 'Insert Image' in the editor when posting here.

What a fabulous watch. There are some real experts on the forum who will no doubt have more information. The pictures are showing but not very high resolution.

Have you come across mwrforum.net during your research?

Hello from Halifax. We’re moored up off the waterfront awaiting this evenings concert and fireworks.

Hello & welcome! I also think that the MWR forum would like to see that watch. Iconic watch.

    My Longines Weems says hello.

    The backs are quite cool.

I’m pretty sure there was a Longines just like this one on the antiques roadshow on Sunday.
    It’s a lovely thing.

That's a beauty Trident! I think what I most admire is just what these watches contributed to the war effort, if only they could talk. I'll look up the MWR forum, now that I've figured out how to post pics I'll get better resolution shots up soon.

Indeed. IIRC the case is around 34mm. So much for some comments that small watches are for girls ;-)
