Eurofighter over London just now (Friday evening)?

I’ve had a couple of glasses but did I just see a Eurofighter fly low over North London? Hoping some of the military experts on here might know. Right over our house, very low.

If you did it was probably going to/from RAF Northolt

Might have been a dummy run for next months RAF 100 flypast.

It is possible (although didn’t see anything) as the plane spotters were camped out on a roundabout on the outskirts of LHR this evening about 6pm or so

Probably the beginning of martial law after all the watch thefts in the area.

Probably rehearsal for the RAF100 flypast as others have said, but it’s entirely possible it was tracking an airline not responding to ATC etc.

Thanks all, I wasn’t going mad then. It definitely had the delta wing shape and the small wings at the front.

As you were, I’ll get back to my prosecco now.

Pretty sure it was nothing to do with the RAF100 flypast...there would be no benefit in practicing a singleton along a route. Plus, it’s a Friday...chances are most pilots have already stacked for the weekend a long time ago! Things would also be dire if that was a Q launch against an airliner...if it has managed to get to London low level then we are in trouble!

I don’t know for certain, but the RAF Museum (near Edgware) was relaunched today by Earl of Wessex....was that the approximate area?

I was leaving T5 and it was one of the roundabouts near there (on the Hotel bus route)

So it's all open now then?

We visited last year but had to endure a hellish journey following a burst water main on the North Circular, with traffic backed up for miles. What should have been a 20-minute drive took nearly an hour and a half. When we got there half the museum was a building site and the rest was closed. It was very nearly a marriage breaker.

We'll have to try it again soon, just to keep things interesting.

Heard it but didn’t see it. It was certainly going fast. Over the speed of sound I’d say.

Just as an aside to this has anyone noticed the Jaguar fighter sitting in a field just off the M6. It's before Birmingham going west. I've passed there many times but as I was travelling this morning very early and road was quiet I had the luxury of looking around and spotted it. Odd place for it to be.

As for the Typhoon, I live just up road from where they build them so they are always test flying around here. That's what your tax pounds goes on.

i very much doubt it seeing as its illegal over land and only allowable when the nations security depends on it.
