That Lambo is indeed a wonderful colour.
Who's the bloke who is Tom Hartley though??
Hi All
Other than watches i guess many of us are heavily into cars including me and a couple of years ago through my passion I ended up writing about cars my own and others for Supercar Driver Magazine / Club its been a fun 6-7 years and I am fortunate to get to drive some fabulous machinery old and new and it now takes up most of my spare time.
So yesterday in the basking sunshine my task was to run over to Tom Hartley's in Swadlincote to drive a gorgeous Aventador S 740 in a very unusual colour.
I am joined on review drives by a photographer for pro shots that go in the mag and online as everyone who's seen one of my watch ads will realise i am no photographer !, but I always take a few shots of my own for posterity
so heres a few from yesterday which i though some fellow 'petrolheads' might enjoy.
The Pagani is just 'wow'

I was lucky enough to have a ride in a Zonda about 10 years ago when a friend was seriously looking at buying one. It really is one of those cars that would have to make the short list if you had an unlimited budget to buy a sports car.
At the time it was the equivalent of about £800k and he turned it down. No idea where prices have got to today but I suspect it would have proved to be a nice investment
Love the "floating lake" at Tom Hartley
Used to do alot of work on Tom's cars. Not so much now unfortunatley.
Is the photographer Riad by any chance?

Very nice colour indeed. I see quite often one in charcoal matte and always think how nicely it complements and highlights the car shape and bodywork details. Glad you've enjoyed it and thanks for sharing.
Fas est ab hoste doceri
this was one of the more memorable drives last year
difficult to get these tracking shots both for me driving and in this case Riad in the boot of a Volvo but end result i think looks stunning
720S is properly quick even measured against its peers
Father and son expensive car showroom.

I follow Tom sr, Carl and Tom jr on instagram and whilst I have the upmost respect for Tom sr and really like Tom jr, I can’t seem to warm to Carl. Got to admire the showroom/estate, what a place to work/live. The figures these guys make are astonishing as well. They make literally millions of pounds a year selling second hand cars! (Oh ok, they are the best cars in the world, il give you that.) I think Tom Hartley jr turned over 100million last year, amazing!
very aspirational business to be part of and Tom Jr has carved a lovely niche for himself.
A good percentage of that was from the delivery miles F1 - https://www.classicdriver.com/en/art...e-time-capsule
Blimey. I've lived about 5 miles from Swad my whole life and never seen or heard of this showroom. I obviously move in the wrong circles. Some excellent pictures by the way and love that green lambo. First port of call when the lotto numbers come in
Looks like an incredible job if you could get it
So a few more drives over last week or two
the fabulous MZR 240Z these guys essentially build you a brand new 240Z with a modern twist
drove fabulously considering its as old as me!
Then today the new Lamborghini Urus ..wow just wow 641bhp 22 inch wheels but you can get 23's interior is beautiful and it goes rather well
fortunately the brakes 440mm Carbon Ceramics are up to the job yes thats 17.5 inch discs, 116600 shot for perspective.
this weekend the new AM Vantage which i hope drives as well as it looks.
I'd take that 240Z over all the cars shown, bar the Pagani.
This rather strange thing just showed up, I am sure it would be described as a " supercar" but as yet don't quite know why.
I thought Mike Mercury was the driver of Supercar.
That 240z is amazing.
I now need that, an alfaholics GTA-R and a Singer Williams
And a million quid plus to pay for them

Just talking about 'Which classic car would you have if you could have any?' in the office the other day and mine was the 240Z. Loved them as long as i can remember. Anyone know the modern upgrades this particular version has?

I'm only £90000 short
So just back from a day out playing in the new Vantage a factory demo
fabulous addition to the range and a worth contender to the 911 / AMG GTS etc
an early 5.30am wake up for a 7.30am meet up covered about 90 miles over tops of moors from Settle to Pateley Bridge with some great cars in tow Huracan Performante x2 ,F430, F12, Gallardo Superleggera, Bentley GT V8S, etc
some phenomenal roads to really test out the chassis and err brakes
That Aston looks amazing apart from the headlights. Looks a bit mazda to me

Wow. I'm an AM fan anyway, but that just looks stunning.
Thanks for the pics. I'm off to check if I won the lottery last night.
Do these ever get out of first gear on the public highway?
