    Carpets

    Hi

I have a carpet that was made by Associated Weavers and for one reason and another is being replaced under warranty

I have to choose another carpet and wondered if anyone had any experience of any of the carpets so as to avoid the same problems (crushing and loose weaves)

We have a town house so lots of stairs

    Their brands include

    Invictus
    Isense
    Vivendi

We are looking at the £30-40 a meter price range

    Any help appreciated

    Many thanks

    Stephen

I think he might be pulling your leg (Walter Wall / wall to wall)?

You don't have under-floor heating by any chance? Just wondering what might have caused your problems.

If you're tied to AW then their Vivendi range could be worth a look.

It is synthetic yarn but it is very soft and hard wearing with a 25 year warranty.

Supposedly ideal for busy areas like hall, stairs and landing. And under-floor heating!

Also probably the best within the price range, without being to plush, neither to short a pile. I would look at cormars primo ultra.

The ranges you have listed are very soft plush piles. Totally inappropriate for stairs, unfortunately very popular today.

    Carpets

    Yes I’m stuck with AW

We currently have the Invictus with the glitter fleck but it’s 6 months old and looks older already than the one we just replaced

They sent an independent chap who said it was not the best composition for stairs even though it’s clearly marked ok for hall, stairs and landings

So they are replacing and have offered me anything under their AW umbrella

    No underfloor heating either

Thanks for your feedback so far

    Stephen

You are going to get the exact same issues with the carpets listed, your best option is to completely forget the idea of a plush pile. Look a their Natural wool collection 50%wool and will probably suffer Pilling, but but a defuzzer and it will perform well.

There are loads of problems with Isense ranges and the one you have with the glitter, its from there love carpet range. Invictus may be the best of that choice . As previous comment Cormar Primo Ultra is a great carpet pity you can't get a refund and go for that.
