    Everyday, Tough, Tool-chrono!?....

Following on from my which "tool-chrono" thread (thanks to those who posted)....

    https://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.p...no-suggestions

I've been doing some research and have focused my requirements down!...many thanks to those who have kindly responded to my pm's with answers to questions and greatly received advice (you know who you are)

So, to focus my criteria, what I'm looking for in the watch...

Everyday wearable - not too heavy or large for 6.5" wrist, although, I like the size (for legibility) of my Fortis B42 diver.
Can handle bumps and knocks ie. it's 'tough'
    Could be worn swimming
    Budget ideally around 2k

So, basically something I can wear and not worry about what I'm doing whilst wearing it; a robust all-rounder

Plus, copied from my other thread...

    No-polished bits!...matt - blasted/brushed finish
    Easy to read
    Good lume
Day/date - but with date at least
Timing bezel - light on dark

And, I reckon I've narrowed it down to...

    Sinn EZM13 - chrono-diver, 500m, SZ02 movement (with hour minute sub-dial)
Sinn 103 Ti Diapal - diapal tech, titanium (light for comfort)
Sinn 103 Ti - titanium, orange details, which I like!
Damasko DC66 - tough case, bezel action, clear design, nice overall design

An EZM 1 (titanium) would probably fit the bill, but too expensive I think and no chrono-dials, so I don't really get that, will need to research how it works!

Slightly left-field is the Speedmaster Skywalker, but don't think it's really a tough all-rounder.

Pros and cons for all, so I'd welcome thoughts on my short-list please, or if I missed any that would fit the bill!

    Thanks

Of those, in that budget, i'd choose the 203 titanium. You could also get an arktis in budget, but you might have to be pretty patient and determined. But i almost guarantee that you wouldn't regret going steel over titanium in that case. It's just such an enchanting watch. If you examine all the one watch threads /which watch would you never get rid of /which watch do you regret moving on the most, the arktis always figures highly. Its basically due to a combination of the geek tech and the beautiful dial. If i had to choose between the arktis and the ezm1 as a one watch, i would choose the arktis. It just has the edge. Ezm1 is also lovely but don't think you'd get one in budget. No subdials on there becuase the chrono hands (one minute hand, one seconds) run from the centre of the dial, and the bezel on it acts as a countdown timer, so it has slightly different timing functions than the others.
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.

This shows 7' 47" elapsed time for example:

You can use the bezel to either do a separate count-down or use the pip to mark the hour hand position if you anticipate going into multiples of hours.

I somehow missed your last thread but think this meets all your criteria apart from the timing bezel. Plus it's titanium:

It's not left my wrist since I bought it a few weeks ago (apart from bedtime obviously!).

    Don't discount the prs17c.

It is around 1800£ under budget though.
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.

I actually meant the 103 Ti, not the 203!...I find bezels that are light on dark much easier to see, which would unfortunately rule out the 203 with it's dark on light background bezel.

    Cheers

Ticks lots of boxes and Dave had suggested in in my previous thread. I do like it, but it's the dark on light bezel thing again for me.

Thanks Dave; I had looked at the Guinard. I think in my previous thread the series 40 had been suggested.

I've had a look at the various models on their website, but I don't know much about them at all. What would be comparable quality-wise ?

    Cheers

Wanted an Arktis in 2006/2007 but no money to get one. Now I have the money but they are no longer made. Such is life.

If you like the idea of the Damsko DC66 but not the poor lume, look at the DC67. I had a DC37 for a week on loan and the white dial is lovely during the day and lume lasts all night. The only issue I have with a Damasko Chrono is no sub dial marker at 5, 15 and 25. That would annoy me if I were planning to use it regularly.

^nikjones, they still pop up from time to time. I saw one advertised last year for around £1700, which i didn't think was that unreasonable. I toyed with the idea of buying it, but came to my senses in the end
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.

I read that they changed the dial a while ago. I emailed Page and Cooper more than once to enquire about a service and dial change for mine, and also a service on my DA37, but never had the courtesy of a reply. Here's a picture I stole . . . ;-)

Yes, that is the current dial - I’ve got one.

Thanks for all the replies/input chaps

I may end up having to try and few to find what works best for me!

I've just been offered an EZM13 which I've decided to try initially

I'd probably still like to find a DC66 and I'm keeping my eye out for a Fortis titanium chrono as well!

    Cheers
