Do you wear your watch to bed?

I've just had this conversation with another watch-geek, he says he almost always takes his off before going to bed.

I tend to leave my 'work watches' (Seiko and G-shock) on - but take my more expensive ones off and put them away.

    What about other TZ users?

I don’t tend to wear a watch at home at all. As soon as I get in it’s put on the hall table ready for the morning. Other than g-shocks I keep my watches in the office so change when I get into work.

    On.

In fact, if it's water resistant I won't take it off until I swap to something else.

Frequently wake in the middle of the night so good lume is a must for me.

Always take it off. I also have a ‘watch’ that monitors sleep patterns and I couldn’t get used to wearing that in bed.

Absolutely have to take it off. Not only for reasons of comfort but also safety, very high chance I might clatter myself or a co-bedder in the face with it while sleep fidgeting.

This is my concern, my Gshock is light and durable but I wouldnt like a clonk in the face by my Panerai.

    I keep mine on.

But it's been known for my watch to have taken off whilst sleeping.

Couldn't wear a watch in bed. I have a bedside clock/alarm for night duty. So have always taken it off before hopping into the sack. Besides, usually helps to give them a few hours of self-regulation, crown up, or whatever.

  18. #18
On in case I want to check the time. Easier than trying to find a phone or clock in the dark.

Yes...I may be strange but I wear a watch 24/7 so I'm never without one on! I do change watches several times a day though.

  25. #25
    Off always for me.

I can’t imagine sleeping with anything on my body except for my jimjams.

Off unless I suddenly fall asleep. Then I often waken up with the sweaty bracelet feel about 3/4 and have to remove it.

On - always. Like to check the time and can’t see without glasses except close up these days. Also, some watched aren’t insured if not worn or in a safe. No jimjams - yuk!

I am the same. It's so much easier to be able to glance at my watch and have an idea what time it is so I can try to go back to sleep if the time allows, rather than waking myself up fully trying to look at the time on my phone or whatever.

It improves my sleep overall to wear a watch. Now I wear a g-shock so I can turn on the light rather than hoping the lume has lasted (or charging it up with a torch last thing at night like a weirdo).

  29. #29
    Off, 99% of the time.

With expensive watches, it's not worth the hassle of cracking them off the wooden headboard & bedside table. Even wearing a cheaper 'beater', there's a risk I'll sleepily bash myself in the teeth with it, or worse, clatter my wife (in which case an additional smack from her might also be forthcoming).

In addition to the overnight positional timing regulation already mentioned, I also find the skin of my wrist benefits from a 'rest' overnight, preventing irritation.

Off - more comfortable like that. Also less risk of accidents...

Off. Anyone who wears a watch to bed is clammy wristed weirdo.

If you are indeed a weirdo please add it to your sales posts, so buyers can make the decision whether they want a watch you regularly wear whilst horizontal jogging and the like.

I always take my watch off at night, unless I am having a sleepover, in which case it remains on. Wouldn't want to forget it in the morning.
I keep my fitbit on 24/7, apart from charging, as it monitors sleep.

Very funny thread. “Clammy wristed weirdos. Mention in your SC post.” LMFAO

I wear a watch to wind it and check the time if I wake ... unless I have company, often take it off for respect. I clean and care for all my watches and straps, they get dirtier during daytime wear and swimming than in bed. Maybe SC poster should specify if they have indeed only worn the watch on the WRIST during nighttime wear....

  35. #35
Only wear it when taking a dump (not in bed).

Always have a watch on.....feel wrong without one.

  37. #37
I started wearing one to bed when the kids were young and I'd either end up in a different bed to the one I went to sleep in or had to get up early and abruptly, but still wanted to know the time.

I've now just kept up the habit and it is useful in the morning not to have to struggle with a watch as soon as I get up.

I take it off to shower though.

And I wear NATOs, so no clamminess.

Always off, all I wear these days is my apple watch but that still comes off for bed, I put my apple watch on its charger next to my bed, if I need to tell the time I just tap on the side and my apple watch face lights up so I can see what time it is.

As a kid I used to wear my Timex diver for weeks at a time, including bed and in the bath. I couldn't do that now, would feel really uncomfortable. Actually I don't like to have one on in the house. And since I work from home most days, that means I don't actually get that many opportunities to wear a watch.

    Same as others

I tend to take my watches off as soon as I get in as I don’t like catching them on doors etc!
At work I even take my watch off so I don’t get desk diving scratches!

Definitely done wear a watch to bed!!

    On.

I check the time when I get woken up in the early hours, and go back to sleep if it's too early. Lume is a must for me too, and usually titanium so no irritation.

Do you wear your watch to bed?

    Always on.

I like to be able to see the time whenever I need to. I also keep my Luminox propped up on the bedside table so that, in the case of dire comfort and/or laziness, when I can’t be a*sed to move an arm, I can see the time by simply opening one eye and glancing over!

I have never, ever, clonked my partner in bed with my watch, or smacked a bedside table, headboard, wall or anything else with it!
