Old Film from the Elgin Watch Factory

While researching the history of my Elgin pocket watch I came upon this video which shows how the components of the watches were made way back when.

What was surprising was the ingenuity of the machines that made the parts, more than the craft of the watchmakers - it was a volume business after all.

    Fantastic film.
I would love to find one on enamel dial making.
