That watch is marvellous, all the more so when you consider how old GD was when he made it. Anyone looking at this thread may find this interesting . . .

Nice article and some clever watchmaking. Interesting comment about the tourbillon being seen as an aspect to 'show off' - a technique that's now perhaps overused today.

Obviously well crafted and technically accomplished but hate the style - like wearing an 18th(?) century clock on the wrist.

Absolutely gorgeous. One of the amazing things to me is, on top of the mountains of knowledge, skill and craftsmanship, there’s an awareness of design space, positioning and proportionality that you’d usually expect from graphic artists. This little thing is the crystallisation of a mind blowing wealth of knowledge and experience. What a wonderful thing to own and wear.

Lovely looking thing. The older I get the more I appreciate watches made by the greats. I really must buy the watchmakers apprentice at some point too

I’ve seen it and it’s well worth a look. Really aided my appreciation of traditional, masterful watchmaking. But also knocked my desire for expensive but mass-produced watches!
