^^^ What were they thinking, going to the worldcup with so many blank spaces on their skin? I see a serious lack of commitment.

    No, it's Holland against Italy.

    Real highlight.

So what do these guys specialise in anyway, wrestling? Judo? Amateur dramatics? (Very amateur.) Or football? Jeeeez.

Video Assistant Ref? Eh? As Peter Kay might say, "what's that all about"? More questions than answers.

Let's hope for an Iran surprise victory tonight, I've never liked Spanish football.

Either I am a dinosaur or that woman’s just got an annoying voice [maybe both]

I turned the sound down and turned on the radio but that commentary’s 5 minutes behind.

In the end I think I will just go for a ride on my bike

Nah she reminds me of commentary on an Olympics field hockey match. No infectious enthusiasm at all. Not sexist just a fact

Well, that's bloody boring Portugal with "Johnny The Selfkicker" Ronaldo through to the next round.

Yeah, yeah, I know, he's done (doing) some brilliant stuff, but still........

I’m not sure tiger Spain will break through the Iranian defence tonight, I’m predicting the first 0-0 draw tonight.

Well I've just turned the telly off, what a load of crap Argentina and Croatia... how much do these guys earn? Falling over, passing L to R and backwards. My Grandsons team is more entertaining!

Just watch Modric. Makes it a great game. As good a midfield player of this generation that I’ve seen.

He reminds me of Paul Scholes - the 'footballer's' midfielder and totally underrated.

Croatia are a team. Argentina not so much. How can you have two of the world's best players and not know how to use them?

Couldn’t agree more. Ran the CL final too from start to finish and never got a mention. His ability to control the tempo of the game is a joy to watch.

Did anyone spot what watch Maradona was wearing on each wrist?

Croatia were very impressive, they’re going to be a tough team to beat.

    Odds on Argentina going home?

I got a WhatsApp video the other day of him on his private jet, with a bag of several ounces of white powder beside him. I think it was flour.

They both looked the same and did look like hold bezel Big Bang chronographs but could possibly have been AP ROOs.

Poor old Argentina, out played, out thought, out tattooed and out fouled. Although they did give the last one a good go.

I have never ever forgiven them for the "hand of God", but this time God gave them a bitch slap

Not going to give it the pleasure of putting the link again, but the youtube sniper video above, all very funny until the end, when whoever made it uses the Bradford City fire as comedy! My best friend was at that game and in that stand as a small child, luckily he wasn't hurt (physically).

Can I respectfully ask that the mods delete it from this forum.

56 people died that day - it's not comedy material.

Argentina were terrible, did not play well and then to take off aguero is just madness. He did not have a great game but only needed 1 chance. Messi did his usual non showing for Argentina he should have just stay retired if he could not be bothered to put in a shift. I suppose that is what separates Ronaldo from Messi, Ronaldo comes across that he would die for Portugal, Messi looks like he could not even care less.

Croatia have some very good players, Rakitic and Modric are both world class.

This are looking up for England, all the other big teams are all playing dreadfully.

Well I have watched most of the matches and at this point I am more unimpressed than impressed. I have been hanging back to ‘take a view’ as I do like a bet in the World Cup. Although I rarely bet, I had one at Ascot yesterday which romped in (Hunting Horn at 5/1 although I took 6/1). I have lumped the winnings on Brazil each way(1/2 odds 1-2) to win the World Cup at 9/2. Effectively a free EW bet which I think gives as good a chance as any of me trousering a wedge and gives me an enhanced interest in the Brazil matches.

Argentina I had to laugh apparently Sergio Aguero was 'beyond fury' and had to be restrained in the dressing room after the manager replaced him.

I'd love to have been a fly on the wall!

They absolutely do, but it was a nice buildup of suspense.
