I love the superb quality of vintage American watches and always enjoy restoring them.
If not for the depression and importation of cheaper Swiss watches, who knows what great technological heights the American Watch Industry would have achieved.
This particular example was made in 1889.
14ct case. Gold balance timing screws, gold collar jewelling. Nickel plates.
It had minor damage to the balance pivots and dried oil on the wheel pivots.

Fine regulate by turning the screw between + and -. Lovely idea !

Wind and handset are made by pulling the curved lever. The arrangement for engaging each, under the dial is unique:
