About 45. 50% Issued British Military watches. Partial to Issued Military, IWC when they were great, Rolex sports models, & Certina Divers. Half a dozen I might move on but couldn't bear to part with the rest.

    like this:

sadly, it will be probably heading to the bin as i will never wear it and it needs a new battery.
if it weren't for the integrated bracelet i would keep it for canoeing.

After a fair few years of collecting/buying/selling and at times up to quite high numbers of quite expensive pieces....2 cheapies and I am not massively fussed on them either!

Oh and I don't seem to be any better off either, not sure what went on really :)

I do keep looking but enjoying not wearing a watch at the moment, been without quite a few months now and I like it. I’ve actually been embracing minimalism in my life the last few years and I think this is partly the reason for my watch abstinence.

I recently sold my SD43, (non profit making as should be the forum way) which was the last of my high end watches. I now have one watch which is my Seiko Padi that takes all the day to day knocks though IMHO looks great with its blue sunburst dial.

They always look better on others wrists anyway.

    Regards.

    Keith.

    I've 6 now:

2 daily wearer styles on chunky leather straps, one of which gets most the daily wearing
2 dressy watches on exotic straps, which both get a surprising amount of wear, one over 50 years old, one almost 100
2 mil-ish modern Seikos on bracelets, a quartz and an auto, both of which have their occasional uses, and enough charm for me to be always looking for excuses to wear them

This feels nicely balanced.....so no doubt I'll mess it up sooner or later

I'm very evenly balanced at the moment:
    Four "Swiss Made"
    Four "Made in Germany"
And two which feature "Made in Germany" on the face, but "Swiss" on the back.

I keep telling myself that I'll not go beyond twelve -- but I've never sold a watch, and don't see that happening.
So, my appalling jealousy of some of Jocke's Germans may yet lead me into temptation

7 serious. 2 old nurses watches. One pocket watch and a few wrecks from the boot sale for playing with tweezers and screwdrivers.

Peaked at 13, down to 8, aiming to get down to 5 or less ideally.

After a quick check, pleasantly surprised that the number is down to 14. I think I would be happier with 5 or 6 long term, given servicing costs.

    Too many really......

I'm deliberately not going to count them. Although a friend has a lot more!

  22. #72
    Usual - too many!

I used to wear ones to match the colour of shirt, activity, etc.. When working used to change clothes and watch when I got home.

I now find I wear one watch for months at a time. However, I always go back to the watch my wife bought me for my 50th (orange PO) although I do change the strap/bracelet regularly - as it's summer so I'm on an orange rubber!!

Sad, but I have a number of the same model (eg, 3 2254 SMPs) and can't stop looking at other 2254s, just madness.

Also I have a few that I've never worn, bought a hulk brand new 4/5 years ago and can't decide whether to wear it, keep it or sell it - just some kind of madness but just owning is good enough for some watches.

Just two; a white gold Daytona (116509) and a Glashutte Original Senator Excellence.
And, while it doesn't count because it's quartz, a basic 061 Grand Seiko.
I don't think I will ever own more, although best not to be over-confident. It's probably a bit like dieting. Repetitive.

I have 8 watches in total, 4 are Seiko, 1 Casio pro trek, 1 Casio edifice and the other 2 are work watches so a bit rough. I don’t have anything expensive. Although I would like a Grand Seiko at some time.

If you are interested in watches, why do you NEED to wear them all?

I've got 30ish and most get worn now and then, but a few never get worn, but that doesn't mean I dont enjoy looking at them or simply owning examples of them.

Nothing wrong with having one or two watches that you wear, I did it for years, but I'm not sure it qualifies as a collection in that case!

I've no idea what DOES qualify though, or even if that's important!

Only 2, a Monaco and Seamaster.

Would like to add a cheaper Seiko for a holiday watch, an explorer 2 and maybe a dress watch of some variety.

Very strict limit of 5 watches
