Blimey chap, not an experience anyone needs to go through. Mrs Works had a thyroid C scare a while back and more recently a ladybits scare too. Thankfully both false alarms. Here’s a pint for you both
Kind of puts everything into perspective. All the best to you both.

Hi David, I've just read this, thinking of you, wife, and family. Your in safe hands and she'll be in good health soon.
Best wishes
Rod
Best wishes to both of you. Glad you felt you should post. I forget how lucky I am all too easily.
All the very best to you, your wife and family.
I wish your wife a very speedy recovery and hope all future tests are negative for anything untoward!!!!!!!
Sincerely hope it all works out for the best. Must increase my DD to Macmillan nurses too!
A good outcome to a horrible moment...
All the best,
Ben
A horrible time for you and your family, David.
Here's wishing that everything goes to plan from this moment onwards.
it certainly puts things (life, hobbies, first world problems into perspective).
All the best,
JK
Sorry to hear this TTC, fingers crossed for you all, sincerely hope it works out.

Sorry to hear you are all going through this and get through it you will - its not something to 'get over' or hide under the carpet - you are on a journey ...
all the best and just get the best support you can ... make your lives easier and as comfortable as possible in these difficult times
That’s today’s appointment done and she now has radioactive fluid in her body! It’s all very clever stuff.
Many thanks for the continued messages of support
Sorry to hear this, and I do hope all goes well.
I've been there, best of luck and fingers crossed!

Good luck to you both, the prognosis sounds good, which may sound strange is heartening to complete stranger.
Having had similar experiences more than once with loved ones, it’s bloody horrifying. I truly hope in years to come this is just a distant blip for you all.
All the best to your wife, yourself and your family. Seems like your wife's diligence in checking paid off. Once again, all the best
Best wishes to you and your family. It’s worrying seeing so many people who have been there and done that... I’m not sure how I’d deal with it at all.
Hope all works out ,never want to be in your shoes

Horrible experience mate.
I was there when my father in law got his diagnosis. He is still here to tell the tale.
Nice of you to mention the NHS staff too. I almost left the Health Service 2 months ago... but it would have been with a heavy heart. So I stayed. It is a worthwhile place to work.
May you both have many years of happiness together... thank you for sharing your vibe.
And you are right... enjoy your new watch. Sod it.
Greg <3
All the very best to you and your family mate... I'm sure you'll all be strong and be there for each other
2 months ago my mother was diagnosed with a tumor and it's the worst experience when you hear those words.. Brings out the best of friends and family.... And I have nothing but praise for the NHS staff looking after her.. My thoughts are with you pal

All the very best to your wife and your family
Hopeing for a speedy recovery
I can’t begin to imagine. Having a 4 year old and my wife being pregnant now and with no family (on my side) to speak of, news like that would rock my world.
So glad she caught it on time and sincerely hope everything works out fine.
All the best to you and yours.
All the very best to you and Lisa.
When this happened to my mom, Macmillan and every member of the NHS staff were superb. Ever since that first encounter with them - and honestly I hope no on ever has to come in to contact with Macmillan - I have admired what they do, how they do it. At a time when most people are scared they always seemed to know the right thing to say, at the right time. The psychological side of recovery is so often overlooked and Macmillan are absolute heroes in my eyes.
All the best to you and yours.
As a cancer survivor (lymphoma) I can relate to what you must be going through. It goes without saying the full support of family and friends is vital at this juncture. I could never have got through it without my sons and partners help.
Also, my consultants often commented on my positive frame of mind. They cant prove this medically, but they said that people who think they will get better generally are the ones who will. What the mind believes, the body follows. Its easy to give up, but keep your wife feeling positive about the treatment.
All the best
Stuart

We've got everything crossed down here in chez watchbloke for all of you up there David, good luck with the journey ahead.
The MIL was diagnosed a number of years ago, she received excellent treatment from the NHS and has been in remission for 7 years now.
Just seen this David. All the very best to you, and especially Lisa from me and my lot.
God bless mate.
Neil.
Cheers,
Neil.
Good evening all,
After a fourteen hour day we’re home.
The surgery went as well as they wanted it to with no problems or complications at all. She’s very sore and full of drugs but in decent spirits.
I’m so proud of her.
Onwards and upwards to wellness!
Thanks again for your support and positivity.
The Douglas Family
Great news. Here's to a speedy recovery and all the right results.

Super pleased for you both (all).
Equally glad that your insanity in parking/wearing all different things is very much like mine and that it works :)
I will be raising a glass to you both.
All the best
Mike
Wishing your good lady wife a full and speedy recovery.....
Great to hear that everything went well.
All downhill from here, David.
Hi David ,
I read that with a bit of a lump in my throat as you didn’t know the outcome of what comes about in the end but glad all is ok . Things like this are stark reminder of what’s important. I hope she continues to be well and everything is ok

Great that she was diligent and caught it early. Prognosis normally pretty positive with an early diagnosis these days. Very testing time for you all but delighted the news was fairly upbeat. Praying for you that all ends well.
Scary stuff but it sounds like the best case scenario after the initial diagnosis. I wish you all the best.
Good luck to you both, sounds like you've had a horrible time, things can only get better now.
Thoughts are with you both...
My wife underwent the full process recently including chemo and radio... long story short she is all fixed, and happy with reconstruction... her ‘new’ belly boob as she calls it!
Hang in there... talk lots, exploit opportunities to laugh during the whole process (we certainly had some!) and importantly try to take one thing at a time.
Thoughts and best wishes to you all.

David. All the best to you and your family. So glad you got the best outcome once it was diagnosed! It brought a lump to my throat reading it.
I’ll raise a glass 🥃 for you and yours today! Take care.

David,
Another here with my own experience of dealing with a bout of C in the family & can only echo what's been said previously, best wishes and hope the outcome is a good one. Undoubtedly a positive mindset helped in our case.
Alex
Sorry to read this David, living with cancer myself I know how worried you both must be. Good luck for the op and the future!
Very sorry to read your post, but very positive that it was caught early and things seem on the up.
I would have happily gone for a pint with you.
Stay strong.
Thank you to everyone who has commented since I last said thank you :)
I know this place can be a bit of a bear pit (pun intended) but honestly the generosity of spirit that exists has been most humbling.
Thank you all :)
My wife just received the letter giving her the all clear from her recent screening. She openly admitted that it worries her every time (she is a worrier) even though there’s never even been the suspicion of anything wrong.
I can’t even begin to imagine what you much have both been through (and no doubt will continue to do until the final all clear). Every day is another step towards that day.
Stay strong! 🤞
That’s superb news Dave, I’m delighted for you all :)
Great news mate ,i sincerely hope this is the last contact you have with this bloody horrible sneaky disease.
Now for the rest of us ,gentlemen as a general rule of thumb we males are bloody hopeless at going to the doctors for routine health screening/testing for any number of potential nasties.
Discovering these things early really does make a massive positive difference to the eventual outcome ,so next time your called in ..........GET YOURSELF THERE!!!
