Thread: Breast Cancer; My wife and a period of hell :(

She was upset yesterday and, for the first time, our frustrations came to the surface. I’ll continue to do anything and everything necessary to get her though this and whatever happens along the way.

Thanks folks, once again your support and encouragement is greatly appreciated.
    Good man, stay strong.

You are going to have some good day and sadly sometimes hard days.

I stayed strong by being there for my wife, although we are no longer in a relationship, her choice, not mine. I am still there for her for support.

It’s a journey. You have support here from us. Seems a lot of us have been in a similar situation.

Got a bit of a lump reading this! Here’s to a speedy recovery and best wishes to you r wife in a speedy recovery, Mrs had a skin cancer issue that was also caught early and fingers crossed that’s done and dusted! Had a scare of my own a few months back which turned out to be clear! Check and keep checking, caught early there’s a far greater chance!!

Dear TaketheCannoli, please stay strong! It must be very very hard for the whole family but there are many people who have beaten it and your wife will beat it too with your support. You will be in my prays. All the best.

David, I can only echo what others have said, stay strong mate, and I know that's easier said than done, remember, alot of women do beat this horrible illness and we are all hoping your wife has a speedy recovery and you have a long life together.

David, I'd missed this thread as I've not been on here much lately but also benefited from the heartfelt support on here when I had a scare last year.

I dearly hope that everything works out and will be keeping fingers etc crossed. Very best wishes to you, your wife and family.

So Sorry you can't seem to catch a break David, one thing after another.

I know it's hard but you have to be the rock even though I am sure it is taking a toll on you.

Stay strong my friend, and best wishes to you all at this hard time.
    Cheers,
    Neil.

    Update

Lisa had an ultrasound this morning which revealed six cysts, probably caused by the Tamoxifen.

They’ll go away on their own.

    And breath....

Thanks everyone. It’s amazing how much stress the brain and body can withstand!

Had a lovely day with the kids now that pressure has gone. We can work on getting her well now.

    Thread resurrection time.

Yesterday was a huge milestone; five years clear and discharged from her treatment! There’s been a lot of stress and tears over that five years but she’s done it - I’m so proud of her!

Fantastic news David, delighted for you both and your extended families. Remember football doesn’t matter, buying and selling watches doesn’t matter, being there for the family and being fit and healthy trumps the lot.

First time I have seen this thread, so I first went to the opening post.

After reading your opening post I am so pleased that all is well and that your wife is now declared cured. What a result. Get in there.

That’s great news I’m hoping the next three weeks will bring my other half some good news she started radiotherapy today she’s got 15 sessions booked, she had her breast removed and two other masses removed after seven months of chemo.

What a horrible disease it is and the amount of people with the big C has astounded me I had no idea the extent of this you hear about people getting it but seeing a 24 bed treatment room full to the brink all of the time is scary.

I’m pleased you’ve had some great news you are right to be proud of her I most definitely am in awe with my wife she’s a trooper.

Fingers and everything else crossed, it really is a horrible disease and the treatment is always an ordeal.

    Good news David.
Sadly my wife has been diagnosed this week with stage 3 again after 9 years clear.
Not looking forward to that awful journey again. I’ve felt physically sick over it since Wednesday. I’m bloody terrified.

Great news TTC, what a relief.

Cynar, I feel for you, really do. My sister started her chemo journey 3 weeks ago and it’s really thrown us all as a family since diagnosis. Fingers crossed for you chap.

Great news David, happy to hear.

Wishing your wife all the best, Cynar. It must be so difficult to deal with the information that she has to go through it again.
