Guys, I have just contacted John personally. He said he will forward me the correspondence he has received as a result of the donation. I don’t know John very well, I have met him a couple of times as a result of the toy collection work he does on the run up to Christmas and he doesn’t strike me as being a bad guy. I know he hasn’t done a great job in appeasing folk here but I believe he has other things going on in his life at the moment aswell. Hopefully, he will forward me the answers everybody wants and I’ll endeavour to upload the copy here.

In my defence though, this could have been cleared up so much sooner, and with all due respect even now the letter doesn’t say how much was donated but does say “thanks for your fundraising efforts”.
I just would’ve felt happier if this had all been posted sooner and if the letter said ‘please pass on our thanks to your friends at TZ-UK for donating £xyz’ or something.
I’m really sorry John, as you know I was maybe one of the first few to help out and I’m pretty sure I sent a few quid in for the toy thing too, I just wish you’d handled this one a bit differently and certainly done so sooner.
But regardless and as you said, as long as the kids benefit that’s certainly the main thing.

Firstly, I don't see anything resolved until we receive further info from Janine Christley. I hope that comes forth, and then it's time for final conclusions. I don't know why John keeps putting her name in quotation marks, she is the director of fundraising at Ruskin Trust and as such the final authority on the matter. John's condescending attitude toward her only confirms my view of him.
In any case, John has done nothing to help his case, the clumsiness in organising this, the poor communications and the insults to anyone asking legitimate questions are all to blame on himself.

Well, I have been critical of John in this thread, and given this new evidence I feel I have to say something to him. He wants an apology and this isn't going to be one.
The impression you enjoyed giving in this thread is that the trip was an initiative of yours. I have read back through the thread and while I must admit you didn't say it explicitly, you did intimate that this day trip was something you had dreamt up. With phrases like "we are hoping" and "our organiser" and offering people access to the children, it is all suggestive of a greater involvement than you really enjoy. The letter indicates that far from being your plan, it was something arranged by the school and you are merely a hanger-on. What's your motivation? Did you see this as a way to boost your stock within Aspire by building a special relationship with the school, or even just Jill, the part-time drama teacher?
The letter thanks you. Spuds donated £100, a huge proportion of the final total according to the fundraising page, but two things jump out at me from that: the letter doesn't thank the other people who donated and it doesn't refer to a final amount that was donated.
It still stinks. Your attitude in this thread has very much been "f**k you, how dare you question me?" Given the real and relevant questions over your integrity in the past, most people would agree than maintaining some sort of transparency in this would have been to the advantage of all involved. You wouldn't have been subject to such scrutiny and the school would certainly have received more in the way of donations. Win/win, but you chose to go on the attack. The means of donation alone is questionable: into your Paypal account?? When called on this, you set up a fundraising page, giving the impression of transparency, but as opposed to being connected to a specific charity, the funds were to be paid from the fundraising page directly back to you! And how come the director of fundraising hasn't heard of you?
John, the questions over your integrity and your behaviour still stand.
Keep it simple john. A simple receipt will suffice to show that the monies donated went to the intended place.

An apparent attempt to fundraise but without proper transparency.
Legitimate questions conducted in a way that can only be described as attacking at times.
