Thread: Lets see your Bronze watches

    Lets see your Bronze watches

I am considering adding a Bronze cased watch to my small collection.

Intrigued to see how my personal body "odours" would affect the case. How much more personal could you get

I have been researching several of the marques including Tudor, Christopher Ward, Steinhart etc.

But would be very keen to see what other members have got and read their thoughts.

    So, please post your photos

Brass rather than bronze, but it'll give you an idea on how they patinate...

Brass not bronze, I love the way my Armida is gently aging in the low corners whilst remaining polished (by sleeves) on the outside edges.

A recent shot midway through picking out 100 years of paint from our ceiling cornice.

Mine below, I really like this bronze, I really couldn't decide if I wanted it enough or whether it was just a novelty factor, now that I have it I have to say I can't see me parting company with this for quite some time (said that before and been wrong though).

It is interesting to see how the case develops and for me has genuinely added another dimension to owning this watch.

This is my only bronze - a 40mm Helson Shark Diver. The 40mm in bronze has since been discontinued but I absolutely love this watch.

Both the Pinion's shown above are excellent.

I think bronze should be a bit left field really, I don't really go for bronze as a variation of an already well established model.

The one I really desire is the Schofield Bronze Beater.

My BB Bronze, had it for some 5 months now. It is my work beater for a hostile environment but I also love it. On the black NATO it has a superb tool watch vibe, feels bulletproof, great heft. Also, is nice to watch the patination develop. Not constantly of course 20180316_154916.jpg

Seriously thought about the new Oris Pointer Bronze but, don't think I could cope with the 'Patina' unless there's a way to neutralise or remove it. Any recommendations other than don't buy a bronze watch?

I made this one a year or so ago.
    Silicon Bronze case, Titanium back.
Carbon Fibre Dial with Titanium '12' marker and Bronze hands.

There's a making it thread here: http://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.ph...-(Photo-heavy) but photobucket has made it less good as I haven't managed to move the pictures...

    Supposedly lemon juice.

Based on that any acid will do it, white vinegar?

I did a guide. Google “how to clean a bronze watch”

Seriously though, the only way to avoid patina is to Clear DLC the case, or easier, buy a steel watch.

Ordered a CW Trident C60 Bronze yesterday, so hopefully will arrive today.
Looking forward to seeing one in the flesh.
And with their 60 day return policy, just in case, it's a no-brainer
Though the BB Bronze is still a contender.

Did you get the 38mm version just released?

  35. #35
No, I tried the ordinary 38mm Trident a while back and found it a bit too small. So this time going for the larger one.

Shame since 43mm Is too big for me. 38mm seems small. 40 would of been better

  37. #37
    I agree
But will see how it wears.
