    Automatic Watch Oilers

Has anyone bought one of the Chinese automatic watch oiling pens ? My old Bergeon 1a and 2a oilers work fine but I bought a 2a oiling pen from China at half the price of the Bergeon ones, for a spare. I have found that the needle does not come out far enough and the small drop of oil does not form a nice round drop at the end of the needle but capillaries at the opening at the base of the needle proving pretty messy and useless. It can't be adjusted either.

To answer this interesting question: NO I have not.

To add a thought: Never confuse price with value.

Thank you for your insight. I would have thought you meant confusing 'quality' with value. I think it is always worth considering alternatives. Even Cousins now sell Chinese tools and equipment.

Many Chinese tools are excellent quality. However there are always exceptions and this looks like one of them. However I've always found their after sales service to be excellent concerning refunds etc.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

Probably the most amazing Chinese tool I bought recently was this pair of pliers for curving spring bars. I thought it might squash them, but it bends lugs perfectly. £7.00 !
The Swiss tool is over £130.00. But it would be rarely used. Bargain !

I have managed to talk 'Happydeals' into sending me a new oiler. But what a palaver ! The guy said he would go bankrupt having to replace this item and offered me to keep the original for 20% off.
And I thought it was only us Irish who begged for their family's survival.
