Its great that a little mock up I tried out a few years ago has been realised! I thought it would be popular.

I'm really looking forward to this one, Eddie!

I know it's 60 quid more than it last sold for but the price of the movement has increased and the hi-dome sapphire is €48 at cost. Sinn charged €300 extra for a hi-dome sapphire upgrade on one of their models (356?).

I think the price is more than fair. Stowa charges quite a bit more for similar specs

    That's a very good price

What time does the shop open on Tuesday?

Just curious any reason why anti magneticism is down from 50,000 to 20,000 and what’s implication of that? Tks.

It’s a very competitive price Eddie and considering the price of the last 29a it’s not that much of an increase relative to costs rising .

The figure of 50,000A/m was theoretical using industry standard calculations. This time I wanted the anti-magnetic properties to be physically tested but the new manufacturer's equipment will only measure up to 20,000A/m. The watches all passed the test and also, one of the previous batch also passed (I was curious). As the new batch are constructed to the same specification as the previous batch, it's highly likely that the anti-magnetic properties are greater than 20,000A/m but as they could only be tested to 20,000A/m, that's all I'm claiming.

Theoretical calculations are used all the time; I don't suppose a quartz movement manufacturer tests the battery life on a new movement for 10 years ;-) I just felt more comfortable using actual testing rather than theoretical.

Sorry to be a pain but do you have an image of the 29A head on. I was interested how it looked in comparison to the W10. Thanks

These both look superb, Eddie. My 29b is a personal favourite and is in no danger of leaving my collection. I’m currently trying to make space for the -AM, and I’d happily add an -A to the box in time. A very versatile pair.

Hadn't visited this thread before as I've already got a 29a so not concerned if they were in stock or not. Noticed how many pages were in the thread so thought something must be going on. Now I need to buy a prs29-am. Thanks for that.

    Really love my PRS-29A.

At the time of buying i couldn't help think i'd prefer a sapphire crystal..

Now i'm toying with the idea of buying a new one, and flipping the old one......

And i really like the AM model too..

    Both Beautiful watches.

  19. #469
Make sure there are still some Air Ministry ones for sale come Christmas time please, Eddie! Think it would do nicely under the tree...

Just curious, on the TF website it suggests the general ordering process is first an email to confirm availability and then using the Add to Cart option. Is that also how ordering happens when new stock comes in or is the email step not required? Thanks in advance.

No need to confirm with new stock. Not really any need to confirm at all now as the shopping cart software manages stock and if they're all gone, it won't accept the order. The only time this might not work is if there's a massive rush and say for example there are only 5 remaining in stock but 7 people have them in their basket. The shopping cart doesn't deplete stock until the order is placed so in that situation, it's allowed 7 orders (because it still shows 5 in stock until the order is finalised) and two people would be disappointed.

Yes, 356, with some or other story that it's very complicated to make a sapphire crystal in that (box) shape.
Maybe it used to be and they forgot to correct the price ;)

Is this a run of 850 in total for both models Eddie, or 850 of each? Just a question of being poised over the keyboard on Tuesday, or being able to relax a bit.

No, it's a run of 200 black dial and 100 white dial. The numbers are carrying on from the previous batch.

They both just look so great in their own ways. As much as I love my divers and chronographs, I've really been hankering for some more 36mm watches since getting a vintage datejust, and these look just the ticket! One for the field, one for dressier occasions :)

The new white one looks very nice, 100 pieces sound like a limited run. So bought it!

Having missed out on the last of the Everest models earlier this year, I am really pleased to have the Air ministry ordered. Now waiting for the 36mm Everest

I tried resisting, but succumbed and bought the AM.
