The white one first referred to as the 'C' in reply 69 and then after that again.

Sorry I must of just assumed it was nicknamed that back on the thread . I meant to say was the air ministry watch in smaller production numbers than the new 29a.

Only Eddie knows! Though he has stated that he needs 300 for a run, so we can presume there will be 300.

I do not have a white/cream dial watch other than a Vostok which i use to mod. I have been looking and considered a discontinued Milgauss but this has made me reconsider as most of my watches are tool/sports types. I think this will fill out my small collection better, love the dial, classic hands and no date. Roll on the 16th.

    The cream looks great!

Wearing my (original) PRS-29A today, interested to see how the sapphire crystal changes the look of the dial from the original

I guess unless an in the hand comparison with both was available the only way of comparing is by photographs . I can’t see a massive discernible difference - the doming seems very similar but the sapphire may cast a different kind of distortion .

    Original prs 29a

    Latest

If the original 29b was double domed sapphire then that may give a clue to what it will be like in comparison to the latest 29a

It also looks as if the hands on the new 29A are similar to those in the 29B, rather less pointy, than on the old 29A. I prefer them.

Just out of curiosity, is the blue compound that you get chemically the same from both processes?

My nerves are taking a toll on me.

Just had the primary transportation vehicle kick the bucket so to speak. Bought a new used vehicle and am looking forward to many years of transportation with this one however I still do not know the price point of the new PRS-29c, and therefore am getting just a tad nervous. I'm simply in love with the watch and it's cream color dial which in my opinion can take any color strap and make it look simply magnificent. If I have to I will purchase and then sell off several of my watches on my "not so desired list". If I am blessed from above I will have this timepiece within my collection when they become available. Then I can drive my new used car and steer with my left hand showing the world my handsome new timepiece, the PRS-29c.

P.S. is that what you guys are calling the cream colored dial timepiece? If not please advise me as to what it is called, thank you.

Possibly what he’s photographed it on already but I’m hoping for the traditional admiralty grey the 29a normally comes with .

Of course you can wear it on whatever strap you want, and who am I to argue? T'internet is full of Omega WWWs et al on NATOs but I always think that a NATO on a WWII era watch (even a homage) is an anachronism. The NATO wasn't introduced until the 70s.

It's just one of those things that grates on the nerves for a purist (read sad git) like me. Apologies, but I feel better for venting my spleen! 6B/159s were supplied with open-ended leather (usually pigskin) straps.

Well I’m refreshingly welcoming the information as I think a lot of people wouldn’t know this, I for one . Thanks . It’s quite funny as well to look at the historically inaccurate pictures of them across google . I do think it looks good on the nato personally but find it amusing now how nearly 3 /4 decades out it is .

There must at least have been straps of that type, even if not known as NATOs, as early as 1964:

I think one piece cotton straps with a cotton keeper were around long before the birth of G10 straps or NATO’s as we know them. Connerys is not dissimilar to a waist band and distinct to what we call a nato (similarities aside). If I’m not mistaken I’ve read here and elsewhere these one piece cotton straps were found on even children’s timepieces back in the 50’s/60’s in various colours .

I was serving in 1967 and Smiths militaries were being issued on NATOs then. I was issued with an Omega in 1972 and that also came on a NATO strap.

There’s the whole world of pre-NATO A.F. 0210 and DEF-3 British military webbing watch straps to discover.

Indeed, and some fascinating debate about them on MWR. I have one of my watches on homage DEF-3 strap (clearly marked as not an original). I think it is closer to what would be described as a Zulu or one-piece strap now.

I have a couple of George's DEF-3 homages and an original 16mm webbing strap on an Enicar ATP. The consensus is that my original is a DEF-3, bit I'm sure that it was ink stamped A.F.0210 until I stupidly washed it off!
