Ah right. The site isn't the best. I assume I'll have to pay duty at some point too.

Possibly but they give you the option to declare it as a gift.

I've plumped for Fedex so hopefully here sooner.

I just tried to buy through JP .
I'm a bit weiry as there was no padlock on the top to say it's a secure site.
    Any advice chaps.

Anybody received one of these yet? Interested to hear how large it wears.

  5. #55
I had a play with one of these today. Sorry no pics but lots here, which are representative:

    https://baycrews.jp/item/detail/jour...0?q_sclrcd=036

It's nice enough but when all is said and done, just another digital watch, quite similar to a million G Shocks but without some of their latest features. I preferred the new PRW60 actually. No annoying "X" too!

Should be a couple of days for mine, i'm expecting it to be far too big

It seemed reasonable to me, not much different from a 300m Tuna - even though it is officially about 1.2mm larger.

Mine was dispatched yesterday to the U.K. but I’ve only paid for standard airmail so no idea how long it’ll take to get here.

I ordered mine a while ago but has not yet arrived with FJ, I hope it doesn't take too much longer. How much am I looking at paying for shipping once it does? Since ordering I've had second thoughts on this but we shall see when it turns up as to its fate!

https://www.fromjapan.co.jp/en/ I can see the padlock before and after I log in. Are you are on the right site?

Re mailing, I always choose EMS as it's quick and cheap, but more importantly they use Auspost, who have never asked me for tax. Is there less chance of being taxed if it comes via RM?

  11. #61
Mine arrived today, not had chance to play with it properly. Large, yes but wears better than expected.
I've set it but not had chance to explore any features.

Looks great, bagsy 1st dibs at the first one on the sc ; )

Looks great in the photos, so much more grown up than a g-shock, but I think might look ridiculous on my wrist.

    Still tempted though.

Ordered mine just over three weeks ago now, still not even with FJ! I wonder if the pepsi ones like the one I ordered are taking longer?

Likewise, no sign of my Pepsi also ordered through FJ, shown as "Ordered, awaiting arrival." :(

  19. #69
Congrats Minkle - that looks good on your wrist.

I think I'll need to try one of these at some point, will wait to see more real life pics of the different colours first though.

I'm not a fan of digital watches, in general, but I really like the looks of this one. Everything looks well laid out and easy to read. What is the case diameter?

    Ordered the Sbep003 the Pepsi.
    In coventry hub.
    Will posts when it arrives.

May I ask when you ordered your Pepsi? Was it through Ratuken?

  24. #74
How much are these costing with all the various fees involved? Anybody share?

    I don't know, i don't care.

Paid my duty and import fees today, just under £50. Nice and easy with FedEx, they sent a text with a website link.

I've been enjoying it on an old Timefactors green NATO today, looks great and the watch sits better on my wrist.

I love tapping the glass to illuminate the display.. but then it often needs a wipe.

I had a look earlier via the links as thought it must be a cheap way of doing it but it’s all a bit baffling to me & ended up getting the hump as every ad was black with silver buttons and I couldn’t see any way of selecting model... jeez I’m getting old.

I eventually found them on a well known shop direct and they’re £220 inc delivery.

Are these proxy servers and money transfer things saving significantly over that?

  28. #78
I've not had chance to take any better pictures but caught the display looking odd today, guessing it was a mix of sunshine and angle..

I just used Fromjapan to make sure i got one, i didn't know if it was going to be released everywhere. Paid via PayPal so don't know about money transfer things.
Google Chrome makes it much easier to navigate the site.
Could have got one from Seiya i suppose but knowing my luck he would sell out.

    Looks nice.

I like the way the display colour looks there. It’s going to bug me but I saw a digi the other day which had the exact same chameleon effect in sunlight, argh what was it!

Do we know yet if these are JDM only or if they'll be hitting other markets soon? I think that info was unclear when they were announced.

I've just had the e-mail from romjapan.co.jp that they have taken receipt of my Pepsi model and will shortly be shipping it. Hurrah!

Royal mail have my 005 and want the best part of £40 to deliver it. 😡
Looks like I’m waiting until I get back from Italy next week to pick it up.

Mine arrived. Very comfortable and I think the lack of lugs make it feel much smaller than its dimensions imply.

I'm in r3duction mode at the moment though so there's a good chance it will be on the SC soon

Mine just arrived from White Rabbit. I had to pay an extra £50 in custom fees, so my total cost was around £300. That said, it's a magnificent watch and has reignited my teenage love for feature-rich digital watches. My wrist is sub 6.5", but the short lugs make it fine. I've chopped off the strap's extra long tail and it looks great.

I would post a picture, but TapTalk isn't allowing me to upload at the moment.

Customs! It's taken them an entire week to decide there's a charge due. In which time, EMS could have flown the watch from Japan to the UK and back again. T****s.

Mine arrived last week, cost about £220 inclusive of £47 customs. Bought it from 'From Japan'.

Good size for my wrist and I really like the coating on the shroud. Nice one Seiko

Well at long last mine has arrived and initially I'm impressed.

    Good points:

    • Not too large either in terms of height or diameter
    • Very light on the wrist
    • Comfortable, soft rubber strap
    • A good range of features - especially the chrono
    • Very clear display and changeable contrast
    • Controls make sense once you read the manual
    • Excellent dual time display on the main screen
    • Unique feature of the bezel on a digital watch
    • Good positive buttons
    • Solar mode shows the charge - a "gadget" but I like it.

    Not so good:

    • I don't like the backlight operation through touching the screen - I'd rather have a button
    • Bezel is tricky to move and a little stiff - hopefully it will loosen up in time.

Some shots, which show the watch but the digital camera does affect the look of the digits, IRL they're not at all yellow.

Had a sunny day with mine now. I've worked out to use the backlight button. On my watch it needs a firm tap, not a gentle stroke.
The solar charging indicator goes to 10 - in bright summer sun, a rare event here. :)
