    Car boot Sunday

A disappointing morning at first.... Only a few bits turned up:

The clock works but with a quartz movement. Canon EOS for the auto focus lens. The jewellery box is nice, silk lining, 10"×6" and I will find a key for it, as is the pink watch box:

But just after lunch a knock at the door. A pal had gone to another car boot sale and gave me these two nice watches:
    40's Helvetia

    40's Enicar:

So not a bad day even if I was caught at lunch time in my undies !

Nice, I do like the car boot Sunday threads!

That Helvetia brand, I can’t help think of when I was a lad I spent a few months in Tenerife and the Scandinavian girls we acquainted used to use a similar sounding word as a swear word?! Either that or I dreamt it haha.

No, you didn't dream. 'Helvete' means 'hell' in Swedish.

Helvetia had some wonderful and quirky movements, and Enicars are very nice too. Well done OP!

Nice to see the Helvetia. They made a good job of those small field/explorer styles with a variety of ‘waterproof’ cases. I have a very similar one with a Dennison Aquatite case. With that movement number it might even nudge into the early ‘50s IMHO. Interesting to see Helvetia on the case back but the older style General Watch Co. on the movement - a nice reminder of the heritage shared with Omega.

This was my very lucky find on Sunday, one of only a limited edition of 38400 ever made. This is number 08643, I must be very lucky.

I like that !! It looks mint as well.
Such limited editions as these can often be worth a lot.

    Spectacular.

This must be the earlier, more sought after model, with the crystal that you can turn by hand?
