    A Sense of Perspective

Inspired by tempfort's fabulous image in The Random Picture Thread (quoted below), I thought that it would be interesting to have a place for some images that create a sense of depth. I love the way that the lines disappear away into infinity:

I think that this one is technically a two point perspective image, although both vanishing points are out of frame.

Good idea for a thread, and a good excuse to rescue some PB refugees . . .

Thank you Matthew, and I agree, a great idea for a thread. I know I have posted this elsewhere, but fits here.

Taken a couple of weeks ago on top of the peak in Hong Kong.

Excellent additions, all. Ralphy's War Graves image is particularly poignant.

I've just dug this one out of the archive.

Thanks Nigel. I now know that to get that shot with the sun through the arch like that, then the end of February at 3pm is the time to go, it took me a long time and a few visits to know this!

Thanks for the comments. Here are another two, one of which I remembered after seeing Normunds' image above. I don't think it's the same tunnel, but they're very similar!

I've enjoyed this thread a lot. I'm not sure my image is up to the standard, but here goes...

I've always wished I'd been able to get this picture (somewhere in NY) from the centre of the building, but some guy was shooing me away at the time!

Thanks. No HDR. I took it a few years ago before I knew what HDR was I think! I was just very fortunate to have a bit of dappled morning sunlight falling on the Jetty whilst a storm was brewing in the distance - and no wind to spoil the reflections on the lake (Derwentwater). 5 minutes later I was running back to the car in the rain!

Wow - even more impressive. You caught the light perfectly.

Some stunning shots folks. The membership of this forum includes some talent.

One that springs to mind. Might try and find more another day.
