No wonder people rave about the finishing on Grand Seikos. Look at the detail of the date window. The perfectly rounded bottom corners contrasts against the sharp corners of the upper level. Finally, the entire upper level has the zaratsu mirror finish, and incredibly sits on a raised platform just like the hour markers.

That boot print is an impressive touch - it's very cool that virtually no-one but true aficionados know that it is there. I had no idea.

Well I’ve now got my £2.50 clip on lens for the iPhone and a £10 light box... I will keep playing but I have already managed to get a few pictures better than I ever have straight out of the box.

My contribution to the thread with phone and free macro lens clipped on:
    Rather precisely applied lume,

three different finishing on the crown

and a beautifully stamped-engraved case back from my Certina DS Chrono.

Might be a really cheap watch but look at the detailing and also the polishing of the lower dial, Casio's QC is excellent.

Was trying to get a closer look at the lost lume on the 5, and see how the trit has been applied with a trowel! Best I could do using an old folding loupe thing:

(Was using this old thing to boost the image)

A cheap microscope and my phone, not the most elegant solution but it works.

Some great pictures here. Any recommendation for a macro lens that doesnt break the bank? Or can people add what they use please?

Have the 2 dollar one, some nice fun but read great reviews on the Black eye g4 (costs about 35). Anything in between?
