    Rolex Serial number/bracelet code

My Daytona is a P series which makes it 2000 but the bracelet code says "DE7", which as i understand it means July 2001
Anyone ideas for the mismatch? Is the bracelet not the original?

    Thanks

No mismatch necessary. Who says P must be 2000?

I have several hundred P-case number watches in my records and the earliest of them has papers dated June 2000. Most of them were sold in 2001-2002 but some as late as 2004.

Did you speak with your seller if unhappy, first?

That sounds right to me. A bracelet isn't added the minute the movement or Watch is finished. There will be a box of heads and a box of bracelets etc. The heads go off for testing etc before they are put together and given to Goldsmiths for onward flipping to Haywood.

Thanks for the update. I seem to learn something new about these watches everyday :-)

Presumably then you could have situation the other way round where the bracelet code date is before the serial number of the watch

How much are you selling it for? Is it on eBay yet?

    Much less common, but yes.

It is wonderful to see fresh students having a breakdown over a Rolex with a 1966 date code in the case back, 1969 bracelet, receipt and papers dated 1970 "but on this chart I found on a random internet site it tells me the watch must be from 1967."
