If they did these stainless steel at around 5.5k they’d fly off these shelves I reckon
From Basel 2018, weighing in at half a kilogram (!!), baguette diamond/ruby/emerald hour markers, solid platinum case... all for £51,000-£56,000 depending on the variant (the emeralds of the green watch make this one the most expensive at £56k, whilst the other two with either the diamond or ruby markers are cheaper at £51k).
A full write up with quality photos available on Fratello Watches HERE.
They aren’t on the Omega website yet, but THIS VERSION (below) is, at £36,000;
The three variants of the first platinum version;
Emerald;
Ruby;
Diamond;

As a man who generally derides all versions of the speedmaster other than the "moonwatch" and most watches with gemstone markers, l find myself liking these offerings.
If you're going to get a watch in a white precious metal then that's certainly the metal to go for and lm even going to contradict my usual disdain for magnification devices on watches and say that the one on the subdial is extremely tastefully done...
...what case diameter?
Edit:- The modern Omega curse strikes again - one big deal-breaker - it's the size of a bin lid... :(

Ye well nice. But £55k - just a bit bonkers really. Steel version would be a bestseller I think.

The magnifier on the date hand is just fantastic though - really nice touch that, and well executed.
Can't put my finger on it, but just doesn't look right. Even if it were a 5K steel version. Think the speedy speculators will be giving this one a miss.
Incredible, hadn't seen those before. They'll be low volume for sure.
The blue is a lovey looking watch. Agree with above, SS version would have been excellent

I asked Robert (fratello) the weight. 500g in platinum on the bracelet
I’m not one for Omega really, but these are rather nice, but!
For that money I think I would rather go for a pm Patek, probably a bit more though. The residuals on the Omega are going to be shocking, but then if you can afford 50+k it’s not really a thought I guess.
wtf?
every other day you get magnified dot with obscured numerals?
reminds me of this Panerai design failure - in March hand obscures date window.
Lovely looking watch but another pointless one from omega
I really like them bar the size, too big. 39mm would be much better.
And shave £40k - £50k off the price :)
Very nice, but would anyone really spend £50k+ on a Speedy. I had the SS Black dial on a bracelet with the NASA moonshot with footprint on it. They tend to trade around the low £6k mark, you can even pick them up from WF at that sort of money. Sold it on here.
I'm sure it's going to be a roaring success considering it's more expensive than a platinum Daytona
Those close-ups certainly don't do it any favours. You’d think that they’d be able to fit a less-cheap-looking handset for that kind of money.
The blue one looks nice. I hope they managed to build it to a higher standard of finish that the usual speedmasters, but I suspect not.
I know it’s quite an old thread, but I’ve just been looking through it and I can’t work out what the other hand on the date display is for (short, dark colour).
I half expected to see someone else raise it, but no....
Can anyone enlighten me?
Agreed on the poor design of the magnifier over the dots... looks good until you see the issue!
Wow the blue is a lovely looking watch!
This makes me think to much.... and I thought a Navitimer had peaked on that front!

£50k buys a lot of much more interesting things than that. Pass
