Citizen have announced 3 limited versions of this calibre.. Out this autumn. £12k for the white gold, and over £5k for the titanium!

Wonderful technical achievement but those dials are more than a little uninspiring.

    The prices are also uninspiring.

I dont get it? Does this make radio control redundant by Citizen?! What is the point?

I mean, when you have eco drive radio controled you accuracy is dead on...

No it doesn't make radio controlled redundant. This calibre has eco-drive but no radio connection so it's accuracy is solely down to the watch itself.

There's still a market for radio synced watches as they are much cheaper but on its own those lower end eco-drive with radio would only be accurate to 15s a month as regular quartz if out of reception area - especially with the US radio signal apparently being switched off soon.

This is an altogether different beast of a watch, and lays claim to the most accurate watch in the world.

Stunning piece of modern engineering technology, especially as it doesn't need any outside influence to achieve this accuracy. I'm a relatively new convert to quartz watches and although I still have a huge love for my mechanicals, the convenience and accuracy of quartz, for actually performing the job of time keeping, really can't be bettered. I understand that the radio time signals are going to be turned off in the near future so this new type of super accurate movement is very timely😊

I’d really like one of these; presumably more humble, stainless steel, versions will appear. Like some others, I’ve become quite fond of high-precision quartz. Pointless but still fascinating.
