What is your point? Are you offering a gout advisory service?
This arthritic condition is somewhat common in the United States amongst males 45 and older. Family genetics, diet and alcohol consumption have often been cited as the primary causal factors. For those who have experienced gout, it is excruciatingly painful, debilitating, and oftentimes chronic in nature.
Certain foods/beverages high in purines have been attributed to gout. Organ meats, shellfish, turkey and beer are known to be the primary culprits.
If you've ever woken-up in the morning barely able to walk due to the excessive pain and swelling in a big toe, chances are you have gout and with its recurrence, the condition only gets worse over time. These attacks can often run anywhere from 4 to 21+ days and basic everyday tasks like walking and/or driving become near impossibilities. Over time, this affliction can also spread to other parts of the foot (i.e. arch, ankles etc.) as the attacks become more frequent.
Various medications offer mixed reviews and in certain cases, a change in diet can provide some pre-emptive means from reoccurring attacks. What was once considered a 'rich man's disease' has now become somewhat common in today's modern world. Obesity and gout seemingly go hand in hand but it's not always the case as skinny people can get gout as well.
Advil (ibuprofen) offers some relief from gout but taken over an extended period of time, it has detrimental side and after effects of its own (i.e. gastrointestinal bleeding, kidney damage etc.). For some, a mild dosage of Advil (two tablets every 24 hours + some good medicinal grade marijuana) helps to alleviate the discomfiture and in general, poses no major health risks.
Hopefully, few here in TZ-land are afflicted with gout as it can be a real drag.

I don't think the UK NHS website will support your view on using marijuana, it is sort of illegal over here.
I also think a watch forum is the last place I would come for advice on the subject, better off heading to my local shop for a box of cherries.
One 300mg Allupurinol Daily sorts me out. I eat and drink what I like but not to excess, never have a problem now.
After years of suffering I’ve learnt not to ignore the initial symptoms. As soon as that twinge in my big toe is felt (not to be ignored, as time is not on your side), ibuprofen and litres of water works for me. Also, learn your trigger. For me it’s dehydration which can quickly tip the scales against me.
Feel free to search 'gout'.

Shared experience(s) amongst those who have the affliction. As far as any 'gout advisory service' goes, perhaps it's best to let the MDs and medical researchers chime in with any major breakthroughs on their part.
Cherries and cherry juice are known to be helpful in reducing the recurrence of gout. It is my understanding (and correct me if I am mistaken) that medically prescribed cannabinoid extracts are legal in the UK while small amounts of marijuana in one's personal possession are often overlooked being a somewhat trivial and time-consuming offense to prosecute.
Just ask Keith Richards. At one time, even heroin was dispensed in the UK to registered users/addicts.

Allopurinol works for me. Mostly. There are some things that still trigger pain - usually beer or whisky, although it's a lot better that it was before I was diagnosed. My GP also prescribed an NSAID (can't remeber the name of it) for acute episodes.
I can remember when just the weight of a bed sheet on my foot was excruciating.
Because I do a lot more exercise and drink a fair amount of water everyday I have downsized to 100mg of Alluprinol
You're Cary Grant and I claim my £5.00

I did up the dose again to 300mg for a couple of weeks ago as we are now on hols in Cape Verde, and with all the seafood and rich food I thought it best. Apart from the odd twinge in the usual spots it’s all good, and I have eaten pretty much as I want, but as I said before plenty of water and exercise helps. Anyway home tomorrow the cold crap weather awaits
Did someone suggest leeches ?
Asking for a friend.

Unfortunately with a genetic cause as well.

Leeches will help gout %100. In 12 hours. After that no problem. You live your life as a normal.
I want to know does one apply the leeches externally on the gouty toe or pop four under your tongue, as recommended by Dr Hoffman of Stuttgart, the respected proponent of the leech's medical efficacy (and by pure chance owner of the largest leech farm in Europe)?
I wouldn't use leeches. They ruin your post count.
Ha ha ha!, Made me lol!!
I never had Gout but do have arthritis in most other parts, Had so many Cortisone injections in my thumbs that now they won't move at all, Seem to have fused together!!
I just stopped going for them when I realised they were making me worse!!

Definitely genetic - Gout is actually defined as a Metabolic defect.
I’m not overweight, run 2 * 5km per week, don’t smoke and don’t drink much. I certainly don’t eat shellfish and offal- yet I started getting gout a couple of years ago when I was 51.
Also gout sufferers can get the rarer crystalline kidney stones, as I did when I was younger. Of course no GP bothered to check my blood Urid acid levels
But a regular dose of Allupurinol and have never had a gout attack since (& no more kidney stones as they won’t be able to form if the Uris acid levels are kept under control)

I had gout badgrom the age of 24 I’m 54 now and am cured
I was on 600mg a day of alapurinol
Then moved to febloxostat.
Both worked fair
When I got a flare up I took prendistalone steroids
When really bad I got kenolog jabs into the joint
I’ve been hospitalised twice with both ankles , knees, hips, wrists and elbows all at once
Well this year I was cured but not sure if you want to try it
This year my kidneys gave up and I’m on dyalasis
3 times a week ( I was on diclafenic for gout years ago and that’s what. Started the decline)
After 3 months off all the tablets and not a twinge
Sorry to disappoint you lads I feel for you
Wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy
( ok that bits a lie)
I learnt a lot over the 30 yrs I had it
There’s loads of good stuff kicks it off
If you read up it may bring the attacks down
Never mind leeches. Last time I had a cold I used some weasels to cure my sneezles.
Perhaps try an application of trout to cure the gout.
