nice photo! I had one these but the 'drift' of the seconds hand bugged me a bit (even the first LE model that I handled in the Seiko boutique did the same), so I moved it on to help pay for my SLA037. I miss it though...

Currently waiting for the DHL man to deliver my new SBGP013...

Oh, looking forward to seeing this as I might get one next month (maxing out my Tesco vouchers with Goldsmiths...)

SBGP013, fresh out of the box.. Man I had forgotten how fiddly the tiny screws are in the GS bracelet's.. The last two GS' that I have owned and moved on were both the right size so did not have to be adjusted..
You definitely need a loupe (for my eyes anyway), to remove and replace the screws.. and a bit of vaseline on the screwdriver helps as well!

Lovely, and ah yes. Now you mention it, adjusting the bracelet on my GMT was a bit tricky.

Easier to lose or gain weight than adjust the bracelet

ha, unfortunately i could do with losing a few pounds, not putting a load more on..

doesn't help that i broke my wrist in 2 places a couple of weeks back!

watch wears really well at 40mm and 10.6mm thick..

Absolutely stunning. Tried one recently, alongside the sbgp005 (Same dial, 44GS case and different bracelet). Really love both, 44GS case is very nice and shiny and the oyster on this one also works really well. Curious if you (or any other SBGP013 owners) considered the sbgp005 as well?

Thanks, glad to see a few people also like the dark blue dial
I did consider the SBGP005, but I preferred the slimmer case and bezel on the 013 & it was cheaper too. I like the bracelet on the 005 - just that somehow all 5 GS that I have owned (inc this one), have had the plainer, simpler, oyster style bracelet, which I find v comfortable usually.

    A bit of vintage GS

6246 9001 with a 9010 dial. I find this case design extremely comfortable on the wrist and the light refractions from the dial make me smile. 'Scuse the old pic...

Thank you, I enjoy it much more than I thought I would, and recently serviced keeps really excellent time. An under rated early model I think.

Loving this at the minute. It's everything I shouldn't like in a watch (too small, not a diver, quartz etc etc) but there's something special about it, it just oozes quality.

Hard to show how the light reflects off the hands and indices (even these darkened ones). Love the contrast of dark hands against white dial, a bit different to the usual GS with polished hands I guess.

    Not too small?

SBGK005 here, bought last year to mark a milestone birthday... The dial is just mesmerising, one of those that is constantly changing under different lighting! Absolutely love it

That looks absolutely stunning with the BOR bracelet, is that a special order item from the AD?

Great design features, like all GS, really carefully thought out.

Definitely not too small, almost too big I would say!

Thanks! It's the bracelet that comes with the SBGK009, which they have in stock in the UK sometimes (otherwise ordered from Japan). It is quite expensive as a separate order I think, but got them to throw it in when I bought it from their London boutique

I was quoted £695 for the bracelet as a separate purchase from the GS boutique.

Haha, thanks. Their website pics are truly awful. Here's another attempt while out with the dog:

I read that the date changes faster than any other watch. I was watching for it changing and missed it, it changed so fast!

    Not surprised you missed it

there is a special high speed motor for the date change that allows it to change the date in 1/2000 of a second”

I’m struggling to find a price for the leather strap and clasp online. Anyone know what they are please?

Update: I've now found them. The strap is around £130 and the only place I can find the clasp is at Seiya which comes in at £185 with VAT and handling.

Do they sound about right GS experts? I'm going to sell my unused ones as I won't use them.

When I enquired with Seiko UK for a strap for the SGBX009, the strap was £275 and the deployant £300, or a bargain £500 bought together.

The SGBX009 is 18mm lug width vs the SBGX261 19mm.

I've bought that déployant clasp and the brown version of the strap from Seiya. Despite him saying he doesn't ship GS to the UK, both arrived no problem. There's import VAT as expected.

Seiya happily ship accessories, it's just the complete watches that they don't ship.

New to me today. Grand Seiko Heritage Collection SBGR311. 42mm diameter. V similar to the normal blue dial but with a bronze/brown dial which catches the light as copper and in dim surroundings reads as chocolate/ near black.

My first GS and it really does feel special in the metal. It’s surprisingly weighty and is constantly catching the light and creating flashes and glints.

Easy to wear. Great bracelet. Feels special. And it’s a bit bling without getting too high in the radar.

On yeah. And it’s deadly accurate. (I forgot it’s also a watch). ;)

They really need to A) release more watches without a date window B) stop with the terrible open casebacks

I just can't photograph this thing properly with my phone, can't get the case surface and angles and edges and the dial in a single photo.
