If they only did a GS diver in 40mm, that would be my One Watch.
I have had both the Ti and the Steel Spring Drive diver and it’s just too much of a clock for me.

I agree, the diver’s would really appeal to me too, they have their own style and I’d love to try one; just way too big for my small wrists. Even Spring Drives as a whole don’t work for me, they’re all too big. I ended up importing a Soko Shadow edition from the States, as it’s the first SD that would actually fit me!

  3. #1003
Fairly new out, but anyone tried one of the new GS Hi-Beat divers?

    https://www.fratellowatches.com/gran...-sbgh291/#gref

A shade smaller than the Spring Drive version (43.8mm V 44.4mm)
I am sorely tempted, but having had both GS SD divers (Steel and Ti versions) they were juuust too big for me.

It is a shame they have stuck with the clunky clasp on these new models. As a long-term SBGA031 owner I would say this is the one weak area of the watch and should have been addressed by now, especially given the relentless GS price hikes. These are going to be nearly £7k, way above the original SBGA031 pricing. It just isn't good enough anymore.

  5. #1005
Agreed. I do wonder what Seiko are thinking sometimes. They obsess on some minutia, then just ignore some glaring areas for improvement - they almost seem to self-sabotage sometimes

Anyone been tempted by one of these? SLGA007. Shares the new case & 5 day spring drive calibre of the White Birch.

Having a spring drive without the power meter on the front definitely appeals.

I'd prefer the old "Seiko" branding, but the main thing that puts me off id the £8,200 price tag :-(

  8. #1008
Nice. I love these simple GS, apart from lack of lume!
I just cannot get past that. So disappointing.

A spring drive without the RdM is a major step forward.

I’m afraid if you haven’t pre ordered you won’t get one now. At least London is all sold out a couple months back. Not many coming to uk at all.

These are lovely. Lake Suwa edition limited to 2021 pieces. I enquired last week at the Seiko Boutique and despite a decent spend with them was advised these were all allocated and not available for the foreseeable. Might be worth trying Timeless Luxury Watches in the US or Chisholm Hunter in the UK.

Yep I saw they were all allocated, was curious if anyone had one coming their way. Very interesting given the strong price of these that an LE of 2,021 watches has been snapped up so quick. GS seems to be gaining some momentum.

Ryan, did you know that Timeless is no more? They’ve been gobbled up by WOS.

It’s a simple mistake. I cant keep up with the new/LE releases that GS seem to churn out constantly with so many iterations of the various movements.

Ah wow no I didn't realise that. Its been so long since I used them but they were always good at coming up with the harder to get stuff.

    Smile

How could you even suggest it was an April fool? It's the highly sought after Ninja Watch with Grand Seiko's renowned Spring Drive movement – a rare timepiece produced in 2018.

I thought it was the Grand Seiko Shuriken, produced in limited numbers for Japan's special forces?

Honestly if it wasn’t for the utterly dire clasp I’d trade one of my Sub’s for a GS Diver any time….

Yeah, it is a great option. Really versatile and works well on the bracelet, leather or rubber.

I'm converted, the 9F movement is outstanding.

I am hoping keeping both as they do have their subtle differences which I like. It would be hard to let one go.
