Superb idea, and what a touching reminder about the important things in life. Have just dropped you an email ref a trip to New York in July. It would be a pleasure to take part if the watch is free at that time.

    Just a quick update;

The watch has traveled just over 12,000 miles so far :)
I've only just managed to update the website / website.

If you're on facebook, search TakeTime and like the page.

Some more stuff in the pipeline but please, let me know if you want to get involved.

    Cheers

    Dave

    Dave,

I’m a diver and as you might expect, I know a lot of adventurous to semi-adventurous divers.

If you want the watch to see a dive and just be used underwater, I don’t have any trip planned but I can do a training dive in the U.K., within reason, any time if it’s just about getting it wet.

If you want the watch to see water somewhere more exciting than on a training dive, I can ask my team, failing that, my club, if they have anything a bit less pedestrian on the horizon.

If you have a dive for it sorted, no issues. If not, let me know and I’ll see what I can do.

Thank you. I think we're sorted for some proper diving courtesy of Mike, (Seadog) but should timings not work out, I'm glad of another option!

Of course, more than one dive is also cool :)

What a great message to put across, especially in this day and age. Happiness isn't having what you want, it's wanting what you have.

Im a boring shit and rarely go anywhere, but i'll happily take it on a high speed spin round the Antrim coast on a Hayabusa for you!

That's anything but boring, and might just tie up with getting the watch to me via a visitor from NI in the third week of June.

Sitting down with a cold beer and the laptop planning the diary.
In somewhat topical news, I'm in talks with Mo Farah's agents as they'd like to be involved :) Shame he couldn't have worn it today!

Does anyone know or have any links to a decent mountaineering forum? I'd like to get it up a sizable rock at some point!

    Cheers

I've commented before, and apologies if this has already been mentioned and I've missed it but has anyone considered, as well as where around the world, recording both the highest and lowest in metres that the watch gets? For any mountaineers or divers who will be helping out on the journey!

We've just arrived back on Santa Cruz after a five day adventure with the TakeTime watch, based on the appropriately named Galapagos Odyssey. Highlights included swimming with sea lions, hammerhead sharks, Galápagos penguins and myriads of tropical fish, kayaking in a flooded caldera at Genovesa, hiking up the volcano at Bartolomé and clambering over the astonishing lava fields at Sullivan Bay on Santiago Island. More photographs to follow.

    Dave,
be aware that on your website Contact page there appears a link to Facebook however that takes you to another TakeTime member, not your own one.

    Amazing photos Matthew, thank you.

Replied to emails regarding deep sea diving and Cyprus.

I had tried to get it up one of the larger mountains but no joy so far!

It is hopefully going on an RAF jolly in Sept though...

I see what you did there
We did stumble across a couple of giant tortoises making a spectacle of themselves at one point.

Not a summit, but I could take it to 4,700m / 15,400ft when I cycle the North Yungas road (AKA the World’s Most Dangerous Road) in Bolivia in late October to early November.

A few more photographs from the Galápagos before we head north for something rather different.

Sea lions, spectacular red beaches and cactus forests on Rabida Island.

A red-footed booby amongst the incredible bird population on Genovesa.

Kayaking in the flooded caldera at Genovesa.

    More sea lions...

    ...fish...

    ...and marine iguanas.

The view from the summit of the volcano at Bartolomé Island.

Exploring the astonishing lava flows on Santigao Island. Guess what Dave, this area is named Sullivan Bay.

Laura is naturally very taken with the concept of the TakeTime watch.

Calling in at the fish market in Puerto Ayora...

    ...and sampling the local produce.

It has been an absolutely brilliant and unique experience, made all the more special by the presence of the TakeTime watch.

    Cheers,

    Matthew

Yesterday we met astronaut Jack Lousma over lunch at Cape Canaveral. He joined NASA in 1966 and served as a member of the astronaut support crews for the Apollo 9, 10, and 13 missions. He was the pilot for Skylab-3 and spacecraft commander on Shuttle mission STS-3, totalling 67.5 days in space. He completed two spacewalks, with 11 hours floating outside the Skylab space station.

He was engaging and amusing, and generous with his time.
