    Edinburgh gtg yesterday

Firstly a sincere thanks to Endo for organising. Unfortunately, I was not able to stay as long as I had hoped and as evidence from yesterday may suggest the day event continued into a night event

I was lucky to be invited to a gathering of TZ watch nerds in Edinburgh yesterday at the Malt Whisky Society and a special treat was a visit from one of the watch makers from H Moser & Cie.

Some fantastic watches on show and really good to put faces to usernames. The first annual calendar is plantinium and retails for circa £50,000. The other four were only white gold

Anyway, I think each of the Moser's suited me. Just need to win the lottery now

Also, managed to try on some other interesting pieces including a Richard Mille. Not the best pictures but you will get the idea. Hope you enjoy the variety

Was that the first time you got to meet one? I remember you once saying you preferred the original colour (beige?)

Yes first time. I still like the original smoke but the blue fume was something else in shifting lights.

Is that a Moser on a rubber??

I love the new Moser with the rotating dials... But I'm not entirely sure where to read the time on it!?

Yes, the rubber straps are incredible. Luckily, I had the Moser watchmaker explain how it works !

Was good, but too short for me as I'd shamed myself the night before. Good to see you guys and thanks particularly to Mike!

    But... A Moser on rubber!?

Explain how it works then ;) I can't work it out from the two pics above.

That was kind of a hard decision, due to original plan being that it was going too be Nicholas one of the reps from Moser, and Oliver who's one of their watchmakers bringing a substatial value of watches over from Switzerland it was going to have be an off forum, limited inivitation, secret handshake meet where everyone could vouch for at least a few of the other people attending.

Please dont make me feel guilty since the last few times we've be drinking into the night chatting about cars and top trumps! (But now that I said that, feel free to do so :p)

Glad I happened to be in town

Thanks Endo for organising and delighted that I could come along even if only for a short while.

the Moser Pioneer on rubber (I was the one with the black ti and rose gold) works really well and is super comfortable. The blue fume dial in stainless steel is a cracking version.

if you ever get a chance to see and try more of the fume dials do so, wonderful. As a brand I do like what they are doing. The industry needs some provocacation!

once again, thanks and hope I can come to another if they coincide with a return from The east.

Guess some of us need to start practicing our handshakes to get an invite to the next one.

Either that or everyone attending the next one will have to sign a non disclosure agreement 😉

Looks lo like it was an amazing day/night. Love the blue Mosser. Something kind of timeless about them.

It was really good to catch up with everyone and have Oliver from Moser take the weekend off to fly over from Switzerland to show us some of Moser's pieces.

He's a true watch enthusiast, everytime he had a chance he was having a good look at what people had brought and was taking a good few wristshots himself :D
Always had time to run through each of the watches, and answer a few of my super dumb questions (you know the ones where you have vague idea, throw in the wrong technical term and look like a moron...)

Probably made a change from the usual suited and booted affair where he doesn't get a chance to relax.
He did laugh at the soap opera style ownership history of some of a few of watches "so she bought it, then he bought it, then he bought it, then she bought it again, the he swapped it back....."

Some of my pics, which i've been spaming on instagram.

Group shot SIB's Mayu is gorgeous
gusmac, had left by the time i realised under the bar lighting was less harsh, so i don't have a nice picture of his RG Pioneer.

Moser Swiss Alps in Funky Blue

Moser Flying Hours in Funky Blue, this was unvelied at SIHH last month

    Funky Blue Pair

Moser Endeavour Perpetual in Platinum, this is a thing of beauty

Some Panerai fans showed up with their silly oversized handwound things... and animalone was not impressed by the 511's strap in the slightest. Love the 233!

A full set of tatty 4 digit divers.... 5513, 1680 and 1665, why do people insist on bringing these old things :P

    Pepsi!

and of course posed ontop of the the cheapest ebay extension tube possible.

    finally, a group shot

Some really superb looking watches there - especially those wonderful Mosers.
(not a huge fan of the Richard Mille, but maybe it's better in person?)

The Richard Mille was really nice, I wasn't a fan of them seeing in pictures but trying it on for a bit it really grew on me.

We just drink beer and eat curry at our GTG's.

Agreed. Really like that dial too. The hour is highlighted in white, and the inner wheel denotes the minutes - so it's actually simple to read once you know how. Must be 10 past 10 on the above pictures?

Sorry I missed it gents, too much on at the time.
I'd have just brought some old ratty divers watch, with stupid engravings, on knackered fabric straps anyway.
