If memory serves me well, I bought my GO PML XL from you (crikey must be 5 yrs ago!). You had a massive thing for calendar/perpetual and moon phases. How things have changed!

Your memory serves you well, hope all is good.

I see what you're saying with 4 dive watches, 3 GMT and 2 chronographs...

I still do in fact appreciate complications, very much so, however, my priority once the house was largely complete was to rebuild my steel Rolex collection as it was set to cost significantly more that I'd sold them and only looked likely to get worse.

The others I'm thinking of is a complicated JLC, probably pre 2012 unless its a Duometre, AP or VC dual time, UN El Toro, Patek 5960 etc. But i'm indulging in some lower end watches as I've spent crazy sums since late last year getting to this stage.

All is good - I still enjoy the GO, though I do not wear it so much as my current attire is much more slack, but the GO still represents incredible value. Fit and finish are top notch. GO are a great brand IMO.

Your rationale in how to rebuild the collection is totally sound and prudent - best case scenario is SS Rolex flat lining.

On the complication side of thing - all the options are great. I love the Duometre. For a dual time I'd suggest another Ulysse Nardin - the classic dual time, I think that watch is fantastic. And if you're looking at dual times, I'd say also look at World Timers - the L. U. Chopard is a great thing. The El Toro is also a phenomenal watch.

I've ummed and aah-ed about the 5960, still not sure about it. Some days I think amazing, the other days leaves me cold! But your last statement is also true, there are lots of interesting things at the lower end, definitely worth exploring

Quite the upgrade from the day dates. Never really like Daytona’s (herasay I know) but the platona with the weight (and I think bigger lugs) is really something else.

I'm heavily betting on the Platona. Tried one on and it was immensely heavy compared to anything in steel or white gold.

The platinum Daytona weighs considerably more than the D-Blu but is obviously less chunky, it wears quite small.
My favourite watch which gets the most wrist time is the Rio 2016 Omega Speedmaster- it’s my daily and I love everything about it, super comfortable bracelet, lovely dial, deadly accurate time keeping.....

Love it. Speedy with a date and a more interesting case. I just sold my moon watch but might have a look at these next time I'm shopping.

I know Omega get lots of flack for banging out limited editions but the Rio Speedmaster just hit the nail on the head imho......great watch for the money....

    Here's mine

A couple have left the collection: a couple of Seiko Turtles and a Radiomir which is now with my brother.
The most recent acquisitions are the Seiko Cocktail Time, bought in early 2018, and the Tudor Chrono bought in summer 2017.

Back (L to R): IWC 3717-03 Spitfire Chronograph, Fortis B42 Pilot Professional Chrono (not seeing much wear these days), Breitling Chrono-Matic (rarely worn)
Middle (L to R): Tudor Heritage Chrono, Tudor Pelagos ETA, Rolex 16700 GMT Master (now has a Pepsi bezel), Omega SMP
Front (L to R): Oris Miles Tonneau Day Date (doesn't get much wear these days), Seiko Cocktail Time Sky Diving, Omega Geneve (rarely worn)

    Lovely.

I really like the Oris Miles, I’ve been looking for one of these for a while now but they seem pretty rare.

VC is pic of the bunch there. I always see the AP RO as a special watch but in that pic it almost looks outclassed by the VC. Certainly not as nice.

Collection in a single shot (sort of)

Fairly average compared to some on here, but it works for me. Some usual suspects in the top row, and the forum favourite Aerospace too. The 1953-ish IWC Cal 89 is as close as I get to a dress watch. The Seiko Monster is the most original divers watch of the last 20 years, so I have both first generation models. I really like Bell and Ross, a rather independent minded French company, so a classic inherited from the Sinn era in the Demineur, and my new arrival the 123 Geneva. Shame on you if you thought they only did square! The Geneva’s finishing and attention to detail is immense. G-Shock x2

    Oh I like that Zenith.

I love that case shape (circular bezel set in shelf-like case background) as used by Zenith, IWC Ingenieur, Rolex Oysterquartz, and many others.

Only a partial SOTC for just now, but I'll post the rest later.

I’ve just realised that three of the four were brought used from TZers.

Not sure came to me with a crystal swap doesn't hack or handwind.
Might have had a replacement 4R at some point the teplacements I've seen for sale have had white date wheels.
Had to have a spork and they are a bit thin on the ground to be picky.
